I am glad to be home. I drove home last night and I'll be home again until Wednesday. Next week, I start the eight day trips again, which are actually a lot easier on me than the three day trips that I have made the last couple of weeks. They are easier in the sense that I'm not driving so much. In addition, I'll be able to exercise more than I have been. They are harder, of course, in the sense that I am away from my family for longer periods of time.
But anyway, I haven't been to the gym since last Sunday. I took Monday off because I had kind of overdone it and I left for ND on Tuesday. I know we are going to the drive-in tonight, so I have to figure out when, but I am looking forward to a good workout. I also have to mow the lawn today and I committed to repaint almost all of the inside of our house by Christmas. We haven't picked out colors, so I'll start with the ceilings. The living room ceiling is first this weekend.
This weight loss is being driven primarily by diet, but I intend long term to make sure that I am doing physical activities regularly. Painting doesn't burn a lot of calories, but it does force me to move, and painting over my head does get me to move in ways that I don't usually do.
I weighed 3 pounds less today than I did yesterday. The big difference is due mostly to the difference in my home scale and my parents' scale. My scale weighs to the nearest tenth of a pound and theirs to the nearest half pound. I am guessing that their scale is between 2.5 and 3 pounds heavy compared to mine. I just put down on my chart whatever either scale says and go with it. So with today's weighing, I passed two milestones. One, I dropped below 260 and two, I passed 25 pounds in total loss. I always like it when the middle number drops. I've now gone from 8 to 7 to 6 to 5. That's cool. I would like to see the left number drop to a 1, but that's a ways away yet.
Day 46
Weight: 259.0
Total loss: 25.5
Loss in the last 30 days: 16.6
Good work, there, Stick! I bet you see some movement in cholesterol/triglycerides also with your journey. Keep it up, pallo.
The weather here is perfect. What I wouldn't give for a bike that fit me right now. I'd be up for spending a couple hours out on the road.
Ceiling painted. Off to the gym.
Back from the gym. I had an abbreviated workout today (no weights; my shoulder and knee are bothering me too much today) -- walked a mile, did 15 minutes on the bike, then did my "kickboxing" routine, core stuff and stretching. Making pav bhaji for dinner.
10 mile run this morning (longest evah for this boyo). And just did 1000yd swim w/ NBBW at Cornerstone Aquatics.
My hour nap turned into six, so my night and my Sunday are now completely fucked unless I can get back to sleep in an hour or so.
