I'm back on the road for the next seven days and I'm going west again tonight, so I'm in full travel mode (driving at least 275 miles in each of three days). I am going to bring workout clothes west and maybe I'll work out in the hotel tonight or tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a shrimp meal at Applebee's tonight, you guys. Bold flavors.
Believe it or not, I used to run cross country in high school and I can remember that during the race I concentrated on just putting one foot in front of the other during the middle of the race. I tried to not think about finishing or where I was in the race, I just tried to keep going. That's kind of where I am now. In the middle of the race in this weight loss, not quite halfway through. I am just trying to keep my head down and stay on pace.
Day 65
Weight: 251.5 <-- back on the heavy scale
Total Loss: 33.0
Heh. I ran cross country in jr. high. That strategy sounds verrrry familiar.
I too ran CC in junior high because I was too small for anything else. Then, I added 2 inches (up to 5'6"!) and some weight (to 145#) and was finally able to join the "men" on the football field. Only problem is, I was still too small and didn't have much in the way of football skills or coordination; should have stuck with the CC.
I ran the TC Marathon back in 2009 because I'd always wanted to run one. Trained hard all summer and finished in just over 5 hours and never wanted to do it again...still pretty sure I don't. But, I should get back into running what with the weight being put on by the golden retriever at home (and his owner).
On a related note, my younger brother qualified for Boston on his first try, just barely, and missed the application deadline by a few days last year. He has kept after it, running in a few more events this year, and was recently informed that he's been admitted to the race next year. He's a much more competitive (and competent) runner than I am and I'm really excited for him. How's Boston in April?
Full of Massholes.
This morning the scale showed the lowest for me that it has in several years. I wish I could say that there was some exercise to attribute it to; it's all pretty much portion control.
Just keep swimming.

4M run after work last night in heavy humidity - I just wanted to beat out the rain (which did come, right after my run).
Tonight 3M tempo run, then day off before Sat 9M taper.
