WGOM Fitness: October 8, 2012, Later

I was extremely tired last night and I decided that more sleep this morning was in order, so I didn't go to the gym yet... I will go this afternoon. I was up a little on the scale this morning, but I've lost 2 pounds in the last four days, which is right on track. Yesterday, I pulled out a couple of bushes that I've hated for some time. The neighbors were out and two different guys commented on my weight loss, so that was pretty cool.

Day 76
Weight: 245.4
Total Loss: 39.1
BMI: 30.35

  1. I have managed to re-lose the five pounds I gained over the summer.

Weight gain is kind of an occupational hazard for a pastor. You go to a church meeting, and someone brings cookies. You go to visit someone, and they offer you pie. You go to fellowship time before or after the service, and there are rolls and bars. And that doesn't even include all the stuff at potlucks and church suppers. Eating healthy is not something churches tend to be very good at.

    1. I'm not sure if this is out of your reach padre, but couldn't you start a healthy church dinner initiative focusing on the local, fresh, and grown from your flock's garden?

      1. That's not a bad thought, although the time to do it this year is probably past. It's going to be hard to get the church ladies to stop baking, though.

  2. I'm still doing well with my weight. I'm not losing it quickly, but I'm down about 65 pounds since I started the process back in 2006. I'm pretty happy with my weight, though I'd still like to be a bit lighter.

Now, my running has taken priority over my weight loss. While the two are connected, I've found it more difficult than I expected to lose weight during my marathon training. Because you need so many calories stored up for longer runs, I find myself eating more and eating at times that I wouldn't if I were strictly trying to lose weight. I've also switched to a diet that's higher in carbohydrates than I used to eat.
