It's Sunday morning and that means it's time for the weekly roundup.
For the week, I lost 4.4 pounds, which is a lot and I've been really focused on the workouts, including a 50 minute bike ride at 5 BPM below the 80% level. I'm probably ready to move toward more interval training and I might start doing some of that in a week or so. This coming week, I'll be out of pocket for Wednesday through Friday (Twayn!) and workouts will be a little sporadic, so I might by ready for intervals in a week or so, but not yet.
Last night was a shock to my system. I had promised my girls that I would take them out for dinner and I was intending to go to a place where I could get a 500 calorie meal while they ate what they wanted. It turns out, though that Miss SBG was at the neighbor's place and she was playing with her friend. Eventually, the neighbor called and asked if it was okay if Miss SBG went out for dinner with them. I hemmed a little on this one, after all, I wanted to take my girls out, but he volunteered that both girls were going to be upset if this didn't happen. Ah yes, devotion to Mom and Dad lasted about 5 1/2 years. Now the girl has a social agenda and I'm best advised to stay out of the way.
So, Lucy and I went out for dinner at a different spot by ourselves. I had what was the biggest meal that I've had in a couple of months. I had a generous piece of salmon, with a side of green beans and a rice pilaf. While this was a decent sized portion, it was hardly rising to the level of gluttonous portions. I ate the entire offering and afterwards, I felt uncomfortably full. I was pretty amazed by that. I have spent almost three months on a reduced calorie diet and my body was so shocked by the size of that portion that I almost became ill. Now, mind you, I've eaten that very same meal before and had appetizers with it and not felt the way I did last night. I guess we can become used to reduced portions.
My workout yesterday was really terrific. I was strong and pushing for almost an hour. It felt really good. Like I said above, I think I'm reaching the point where I am ready to incorporate some different types of activities into my routines.
Day 82
Weight: 240.6
Total Loss: 43.9
BMI: 29.67
I will volunteer that age may have something to do with it too. I just can't pig out the way I could when I was younger.
But that's wet blanket stuff. Congrats on the continued lifestyle transition. Your story is quite inspiring.
Weighed myself at the gym today. I'm down to 156, which I expected. Without working or living at home, I can't really pig-out constantly like I need to to pack on weight.
Post-race elixirs:
1) Roll out legs on styrofoam roller.
2) Extensive stretching.
3) Epsom salt baths, followed by Wal-Gay (don't remember the name, I'm making it up, Walgreens version of BenGay).
4) Lite bike route - to burn out some of the acid.
I read #4 as "Burn out on some acid" and I thought "Boy, that escalated quickly"
No tie here.
