PEORIA 12, SCOTTSDALE 4 IN SCOTTSDALE

TwinsEvan Bigley was 2-for-5 with a triple, scoring once and driving in three.  Dan Rohlfing was 2-for-5 and scored once.  Kyle Gibson surrendered four runs on five hits and three walks in five innings while striking out four.

Game summary:  Peoria scored ten runs in the eighth to come back from a 4-2 deficit.  The inning featured six hits, five walks, and two wild pitches.

Peoria:  Jeudy Valdez (San Diego) was 3-for-4 with a double and two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.  Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in three.

Scottsdale:  Alex Monsalve (Cleveland) was 4-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Gary Brown (San Francisco) was 2-for-5 with a double and scored once.

MESA 4, PHOENIX 3 IN MESA

Game summary:  Mesa lost a 3-0 lead before winning with a run in the eighth.  An RBI single by Jonathan Schoop produced the winning run.

Phoenix:  Grant Green (Oakland) was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk.  Kevin Kiermaier (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once.

Mesa:  Mike Wright (Baltimore) pitched four shutout innings despite allowing five hits and a walk.  Joc Pederson (Dodgers) hit a three-run homer.

SURPRISE 5, SALT RIVER 4 IN SALT RIVER

Game summary:  Surprise scored two in the ninth to go ahead 5-1.  Salt River scored three in the ninth, but did not get the tying run on base.

Surprise:  Darrell Ceciliani (Mets) was 3-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Mike O’Neill (St. Louis) was 3-for-4 with a walk and scored once.

Salt River:  Jake Marisnick (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.  Anthony Rendon (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
