Game summary:  Lara scored three in the first and four in the third to take a 7-0 lead.

Lara:  Robert Perez was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in four.  Luis Valbuena (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and scored twice.

Aragua:  Carlos Colmenares was 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, and a walk, scoring twice.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

ZULIA 6, LA GUAIRA 1 IN ZULIA

Game summary:  Zulia took the lead with two in the fourth and took control with three in the seventh.

La Guaira:  C. J. Retherford doubled and drove in a run.

Zulia:  Austin Bibens-Dirkx struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on four hits and two walks.  Gerardo Parra (Arizona) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.

MAGALLANES 3, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Game summary:  Magallanes scored two in the first.  With the score 2-1, Magallanes got an insurance run in the fifth.

Magallanes:  Matt Shoemaker (Angels) allowed one run on three hits and a walk in 5.2 innings.  Ezequiel Carrera (Cleveland) was 2-for-3 with two walks.

Margarita:  Javier Brito was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored once.  Marcel Prado allowed only a walk in 2.1 scoreless innings.

Game summary:  Anzoategui scored all three runs in the sixth, taking a 3-0 lead, then held on.
