The round-robin playoffs have started.  They'll last about three weeks or so.

ESCOGIDO 8, AGUILAS 2 IN AGUILAS

Twins: Luis Perdomo (Aguilas) pitched a scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Game summary: Escogido led 4-0 after three. Aguilas cut it to 4-2 in the fourth, but Escogido got two in the sixth and two in the eighth.

Escogido: Edward Valdez pitched seven innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and no walks. Melky Mesa was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in three.

Aguilas: Enerio Del Rosario pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and no walks.

ESTE 3, ORIENTE 1 IN ORIENTE

Twins: Drew Butera (Oriente) was 0-for-2.

Game summary: Este scored single runs in the first, fifth, and sixth. Oriente’s lone run came in the ninth. Oriente had only three hits.

Este: Raul Valdes (Philadelphia) struck out seven in seven innings, giving up two hits and a walk. Jose Ramirez (Cleveland) was 2-for-5.

Oriente: Junior Lake (Cubs) was 2-for-4. Victor Moreno allowed one run on three hits and no walks in 4.1 innings of relief.
