Game summary: Zulia took a 3-0 lead in the second. Lara cut it to 3-1 in the top of the sixth, but Zulia got two in the bottom of the sixth.

Lara: C. J. Retherford (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Gabriel Noriega (Seattle) was 2-for-4.

Zulia: Cesar Valdez struck out eight in 6.2 innings, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks. Henry Rodriguez (Cincinnati) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

CARACAS 10, MAGALLANES 9 IN CARACAS (10 INNINGS)

Game summary: Magallanes led 7-2 after four. Caracas scored three in the seventh and one in the eighth to tie the game at eight. Magallanes got one in the tenth, but Caracas came back with two. Jesus Guzman singled in the winning run.

Magallanes: Endy Chavez (Kansas City) was 4-for-6 with a run and an RBI. Eliezer Alfonzo was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer.

Caracas: Josh Kroeger was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Asdrubal Cabrera (Cleveland) was 3-for-4 with a home run and two walks.
