Back in the old days, we didn't have a lot of evaluation systems at work. We just worked on our projects and did our best. Now, we have multiple systems in place to track activity and progress. It can be a real burden, because who really wants to do that all the time (these evaluation deadlines always seem to show up right when we are the busiest). Plus, who likes to be evaluated all the time, anyhow?
Of course, a well-designed and executed system should help employees to keep on track and correct deficiencies. So, we can take that idea outside of the pain of work evaluation and apply it to our fitness. I hope if you are trying to improve your fitness that you will consider a monthly re-commitment and evaluation process. If you aren't getting the results you want, a little adjustment every 30 days might get you where you need to be. Plus, staring at your results every 30 days will help you stay on track, too, especially if there are positive results.
So, I started yesterday with my month. Last night, I got back to Mom and Dad's. My brother was there and we were goofing around, having a good time. It got to be 9PM, then 9:05, then 9:10. The minutes were ticking away. Would I get off to a good start and get my workout in? Or would day 1 of the month be a failure? I went upstairs, got my workout clothes on and went down the basement and put in 30 minutes on the bike. Mission accomplished.
So far this month:
1 workout of 20
0.5 pounds gained (that scale is totally unreliable)
2 of 20 so far. I knew I wouldn't have much time tomorrow, so I made sure I got it in today, despite it not being the best timing today either. It wasn't quite as intense as yesterday's workout, but I did do some actual lifting for the first time in ages.

Or (friend of a friend runs it): The Daily Practice. I found it useful when I used it. I need to add new goals since I completed the previous one and haven't used it since.
i think i've inquired before, but i've heard good things about C25K/C210K apps. i'm thinking about trying the latter whenever i get my A off the C, but not sure if any are specifically better than others.
New post at the tumblr about my athletic career. It got a bit long on me, so I suggest it for your reading during your afternoon constitutional.
2 cycling classes and another gym trip so far this week. Had to get ahead because I'm out-of-town this weekend.
