I put this up a few weeks ago, but didn't get any comments. One more try. Funky drummer + Xenakis.
Otherwise, y'know, share your random ten.

When I tried syncing my iPod a few days ago, it freaked out. I was afraid the memory in it went bad or a pin was bent or something. But after dozens of attempts on restarting it, my computer, iTunes, and plugging and unplugging it, I swapped cords. That was the problem, but then I had to let it sync overnight to get all my songs back on it.

*Notes:
1. This album is so great, and this song is one of the highlights. Self-conscious doubts about a budding relationship expressed without , and Sufjan Stevens (no relation) on banjo. "You got numbers in your brain but I never think you count me."
2. It's a one-minute acapella with just the reverb of the venue.
3. The edit is just cutting the track to the vocal part. Like a radio edit, first 2:52. I did this for a mix disc I made.
4. "He chewed me up spit me up just the same... Now they all look at me with courage and disdain." Maybe I'm getting old and conservative, but lately I've really been enjoying songs with negative impressions of sex and its reprocussions. Feels like some balance after so many sexy titilating songs. Lydia Loveless has her share, and so does Ms. Rose. Shannon Stephens first album has a few, too. None from dudes, though, unless you count that gross Conway Twitty song I profiled a week or two ago, which wasn't intended that way.
6. I need a copy of this. I assume it's got great liner notes, such a great collection of late 70s reggae.
8. An Everly Brothers cover, as are all of the songs on the album.

heh, this seems like the type of lyric i'd be a little insulted by if i was her husband though:
how's the new rose stuff? i haven't checked anything out yet.
At the same time, you would have Caitlin Rose as a wife as your consolation.
I really liked the two songs she previewed the album with, haven't given the rest a good listen. Sounds good on light listens though. Not like the Billy/Dawn collab which is unimpressing at light listens.
Bonus: EAR sounded interested in the show! She's never been to Triple Rock!
hmm, fair point. i'd call it a wash.
i like the song from that video you put up. not sure if i'm going to make the schuba's show, but i'd really like to. at the very least, i'm looking forward to the new album.

*Never heard of them before. The song drags towards the end.
** Never heard of 'em, either. Better than song one.
*** Never saw the appeal when he got big for a year or two there. Still, this is the first time I've heard this song and it's not too bad.
I bought the Live at Stubbs CD when it was sort of fashionable to do so. I really don't know what I was thinking beyond the novelty of it. I listened to it again last year and wasn't a fan. It's okay, but if I'm going to listen to that style of music, there are better examples to choose from.

Pandora thinks you're two separate people that can agree on Gnarls Barkley.
I think Pandora makes pretty convincing case.
1. "Who You Gonna Marry" - Paul Westerberg - 49:00
2. "Dog Days Are Over" - Florence & The Machine - Lungs

2xB: "Safety Dance" - Men Without Hats - Rhythm Of Youth
My version of Westerberg's 49:00 is actually one long track, how did you get a separate track out of that or did you buy just the single? Good song, btw (almost makes up for the dreck at the end).
My version is also one long track, I just skip at the end of the song, if I remember to.
Also, yeah, I was feeling really good about this list until #10. ::shudder::
2xB ain't no prize either.
I enjoy that one ironically.
ironically do you enjoy that song or do you enjoy it "ironically?"
I don't ever actually listen to the song when I'm listening to music for enjoyment. If I'm dancing with my kids, it'll get played sometimes. They enjoy it. I enjoy their enjoyment of it. So whatever you count that as...

I was just discussing that scene with a friend last night. It's one of my very favorite comedic scenes in any format.
That sounds stupid, but I laugh like an idiot every single time.
yeah, #10 blows.
also, if you're using itunes, that's an easy enough fix, especially if you only want one song out of it.
I do it all the time in iTunes.
1. Right Click -> Get Info
2. Options
3. Edit "Start Time"
4. Edit "Stop Time"
5. OK
6. Right Click -> Create MP3 Version
7. Edit track name of new shorter version, append "(AMR Edit)"
8. Repeat Steps 1-5 on the original, removing the changes.
9. ???
T. Profit!
yeah, this. i didn't feel like typing it out without prompting.
The last two steps are my own personal secret.
i was just trying to make it look like i knew what i was talking about. i'll go now...
By which I mean they're a secret from me. Anyone care to enlighten?
