  1. I'm also sitting in first place in the WGOM bracket pool. What else awesome could possibly happen in my life?

    1. My West regional may be the single worst quadrant I've ever picked. If Ohio St. wins today, I'll be 4-15 in the West, as I've incorrectly picked every game after this one already. I blame changing my bracket name from "TheIlliterateJuanDixon" to the "AJ Moye All-Stars"

  2. Real Dick Bremer:

Another potshot at Shecky? (A former beat writer.) Someone else in MN or someone from a different market?

      1. See, I read it more as a condemnation of other teams' beat writers.
But you may be right. (Too bad, that's boring.)

  3. In case you missed it yesterday. Wow!

Edit: I updated the code - Mags

  4. the Blue Jays like recycling their managers. Cito Gaston had two times at the helm, now John Gibbons is in his second stint.

    1. With the long-term habituation, on the other hand, related changes occurred in the olfactory bulb rather than the brain.

That would explain why I've been obsessed with dry hopping lately.

    1. Kansas City is pretty much shut down with 17" of snow
they are hosting basketball games today

        1. We're up to at least 10" now, maybe 12"ish. If I don't see several snowmen after all this, I'm going to be disappointed, because they almost make themselves in this snow. Wet, and he-e-avy.

    1. his college commentary is awful
Im not too big on his NBA commentary either, but at least there he somewhat knows something and a lot more entertaining

  5. Temps today supported outside grilling and firing up the Fire Pit. Sweet, can smell Spring in the air. Walked around the yard to collect sticks/debris for my fire.

5 oz. salmon on the grill, plus corn on the cob, roasted pineapple, broccoli, and bok choy steamed in tin foil.

Also, an NBBW vegan dessert - Chia Seed Pudding:

    2 Tablespoons raw cacao powder
    4 Tablespoons raw honey
    8 Tablespoons black chia seeds
    1 medium avocado
    2 Tablespoons organic coconut oil
    2 cups Filtered water

Put all ingredients in the food processor.

Process for 3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

Adjust honey and cocoa powder to taste. Pour into individual bowls and chill.

**From the Rich Roll "jai seed" plant-based cookbook.

  6. The Red Wings had a rough game Saturday, falling to Pawtucket 8-1. Scott Diamond allowed three runs on five hits in three innings. Kyle Gibson yielded four runs on seven hits in four innings. Oswaldo Arcia homered for the lone Rochester run. The Wings play an intersquad game with New Britain today.

        1. I'm watching it on my tv via my iphone and apple tv. HDMI cable will do the same. quality is not the greatest however.

        1. Does depend on permissions and you do have them. Though the LTE immediately below this one indicates as such.

          1. Oh, that's the fancy version with the line break in it? I thought it used to pull in the avatars, or is it not rendering on my browser?

  7. A fan opines:
HockeyFanMN Why this is not being boradcast on TV is beyond me.

    1. On the one hand, it seems like the Yankees have had a lot of success resurrecting guys like that. On the other hand, the trap of succeeding in resurrecting guys like that is that you start to think you can do it with everybody.

    2. The Blue Jays must love that. First they manage to trade an "untradeable" contract without paying anything and now their former anchor is on a division rival. Admittedly, it seems the Angels are still paying for him, but the contract isn't the sole reason he's untradeable.

    3. the Yankee did a lot of cost cutting this off season (or not overspending for players), so trading for a guy who has one of the worst contracts (even though the LAA will probably pick up a lot of money) seems funny.

      1. I wonder if he ever stopped to ponder if maybe, just maybe, the reason Duke is so successful in college despite "inferior" talent is because they happen to get EVERY SINGLE CALL. When GW played Duke in the second round in 2006, Sheldon Williams practically tackled players who drove the lane and would never get called.

        1. Where is this inferior talent angle coming from? Smells like BS to me. Duke is a huge name, has been really successful, and thus has a big recruiting advantage in the anti-parity world of college athletics. Maybe they aren't the most athletic team in the NCAA, but there's also more to talent than just being athletic.

          1. it is a longstanding meme because Dook stars rarely become NBA superstars. Think: Danny Ferry, Christian Laettner, etc. Some people are convinced that NBA-level talent should always translate into college success (almost true), implying that if you have college success, you must have NBA-level talent. Ergo, Dook is an anomaly.

I'm not agreeing, just laying out the meme. [edit: I think the same thing has been and can be said of Indiana, historically]

    1. Rooting for Duke is like rooting for college basketball, but not the way he thinks it is.

  8. So I've been watching this Goofs game. Do they often switch like they did in the second half here, where they end up with a big slow guy on the freekin point guard? Because that kept happening, and was stupid and did not appear to be the best strategy to complete the comeback.

    1. I could tolerate college basketball more if either the NCAA were not a thing or if teams ran like FGC does.

        1. Its almost as if they don't even care about the ridiculously long shot clock. The anti-Badger.

              1. its funny, they sometimes run a press (almost beat Indiana early in the year because of it), you would think they would know how to break one

  9. these night games have been bananas

and LaSalle's nickname is the Explorers. awesome

    1. I've attended one college basketball game in the last two seasons, yet I happened to see a Sweet Sixteen team!
