I'm driving to New Ulm this morning with my family. First time home in more than 18 months. I'll probably be away from the internet all weekend.

Yeah, I love that one.
The announcer for TLLS (last few seconds) is Shadoe Stevens, who some may have actually heard of but I know as Fred Rated from these kind of ads from my days living in LA in the 80s:

A 37" projection TV for only $1697?! I'm in!!!!!!
These are quite absurd. They had a strange marketing department.
They were certainly memorable.

thought you were going to remove Blu Cantrell from your playlist a long time ago?
I'm too lazy to remove songs, or finish typing this sen
.

I think I've mentioned Indian Jewelry here in passing before, but they have a new album - Peel It. It's two parts Swans and one part Portishead, but not as serious as either of those bands. Here's "See Forever" - the video isn't that great, but the song is good.
There's also Cloned Moor, who are like what would happen if METZ decided to do post-rock. I'm not sure if this is good or not, but it's not very long and you can name your own price, so it's worth a listen. Plus the song titles are ridiculous.
Yup, that's pretty much an instant download.

*Yes, that “I’m On Fire”…not a bad bluegrass rendition of it actually.
**Bootsy bait – I have a great appreciation of Feist thanks to our painter in residence (though recently an infrequent visitor to these parts)
***From my “cheaptoy” Pandora station
Politics and general buffoonery aside, Nugent's first album is a [redacted] rock and roll powerhouse. I can't listen to it without cranking the volume all the way up and banging my head against the nearest solid object.
his debut solo album (Ted Nugent) or his second (Free-for-All)?
The eponymous one. Free for All was a decent follow-up, and he did a few good things with the Amboy Dukes before going solo, but TN TN is still the best thing he's ever done. Since Cat Scratch Fever, though, it's been all downhill.
Yea, well, where else did he have to go artistically after the masterpiece that was "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang"??
In looking for an answer to your question, I found this nugget:
-sweet-
I did not know that about Meat Loaf. Now I have to dig out my 8-track of Free-for-All and give it another listen.
Heh, glad its at least one of their good songs. That album is about 50% really good/50% meh, but after that they started getting kind of annoying (or really annoying if we're talking about Anselmo.)
...glad its at least one of their good songs.
So was I.

Do you like the Adele album? I'm asking because you and I seem to have some musical overlap, and I don't know if I'm sold on Adele.
Actually, I can't really tell you. The husband downloaded just a couple songs from that album and I happened to grab them when I was throwing stuff onto my playlist. She's got a powerful voice to be certain but I haven't heard enough to say what I think of her as a musician or of her songs in general.
We're in the same boat then as Dr. Chop downloaded several songs recently.
Just in time for Opening Day I'll be going on the dole and seeking gainful employment. A Top Ten list just won't cut it for me today, guys, I need to put in some overtime. Here's my 25-song roster. It's not random, just what's weighing on my mind.

You're playing my song(s) Twayn. You ever want a sympathetic ear... well, I suppose the whole of the WGOM works for that.
Also, love the 25-song roster idea. Well done.
I had Killdozer's Working Hard or Hardly Working in there for cheaptoy, but it got optioned to AAA Rochester to make room for a third catcher.
You could start an Intertubes call-in show about truck repairs. With Click & Clack's retirement, there's a market opportunity.
more seriously, best wishes.
Lefty Frizell--If You've Got the Money Honey
Theory of a Deadman--Say Goodbye
J Giles Band--Angel is a Centerfold
Johnny Cash--Understand Your Man
Alison Krauss--That Kind of Love
John Williams--The Raiders March
The Beatles--I'm So Tired
Theory of a Deadman--Better Off
Tim McGraw--Down on the Farm
Ben Folds--Boxing
Always enjoyed the version Willie did - I'll have to check Lefty's out.
I like Willie's cover better; it's more polished. Lefty has that real backwoods Hank-type scratchy sound, but it's all right.
I am a fan of The Little Willies version
'Tired of Toein the Line' - Rocky Burnette Tired of Toein the Line
'Shake and Pop' - Nick Lowe Jesus of Cool (bonus track)
'Yesterday' - The Beatles Help!
'Shambala' - Three Dog Night 20th Century Masters
'Sea of Love' - The Honeydrippers The Honeydrippers Vol 1
'Sell Out' - Reel Big Fish Turn Off the Radio!
'Come Monday' - Jimmy Buffett Songs You Know By Heart
'You Cant Always Get Want You Want' - The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed
'This Song' - George Harrison Thirty Three & 1/3
'South Side' - Moby Play
Bonus: digging aournd on YouTube for a Replacements clip, I stumbled upon Sonic Youth 'Kool Thing'. I didnt listen to Sonic Youth growing up and only know them from being on The Simpsons Homerpalooza episode. This song has been stuck in head head all week

01. Type O Negative - "We Hate Everyone", Bloody Kisses
02. Moonsorrow - "Unohduksen Lapsi", Kivenkantaja
03. Bruce Dickinson - "Starchildren", Accident of Birth
04. Dysrhythmia - "Psychic Desolation", No Interference

08. Decapitated - "Lying and Weak", The Negation
09. Control Denied - "Believe", The Fragile Art of Existence
10. Corporation 187 - "Thursday Night Agression", Perfection in Pain
It always amused me that "We Hate Everyone" was the most upbeat-sounding track on Bloody Kisses.
Funnier when "Kill All the White People" comes in second.
A lot of Mountain Goats comes up on Spotify's Hold Steady radio station. They haven't really grabbed me yet. I may even say I'm on the verge of not liking them.
I almost forgot. The official gurl singer of WGOM has a new album out.
