As I am sure will be mentioned every inning, the temperatures have finally matched the date. It is 67 degrees outside as I write this. Since it was 45 this morning, I dressed for that, so of course I'm going to be a bit warm waiting for the bus this evening. Thankfully it will be in the shade and windy.
Oh, yeah, the Twins. Nine wins after 18 games is more than I would have expected. Hicks going from a black hole to η Carinae A, roughly, helps; though it didn't help the Twins. Since ending his strikeout streak, he has struck out only twice while walking eight times. Unfortunately, he only tallied three hits.
What I also wouldn't have expected after 18 games: Mauer and Morneau have played in every game, and only them.
pregame reading: RandBall's Stu write up with AJ Pierzynski
2-0 and this game might be over already
Welcome to the Radke Flashback Game
PlouffE. Sheesh, he played that ball terribly.
Excuse me, apparently that was ruled a hit.
holy moses! what a relay!
YDNROAH&PF!!
Wild down 3-0 to the Oilers nearing the end of the first period. Somebody call Paul Allen.
Y
DNROTP!!I'm glad they managed to get the out, but the method was pathetic.
KeystoneTwins
Rangers going for the record for outs on the bases tonight.
Three very eventful outs.
Dick Bremer is right. How is this game still 2-0?
And Plouffe still not having an error.
to those who want Gardy fired, it might be not in cards
The way the Twins do things, Ullger would just end up as manager anyways. I've never had a huge problem with Gardy but he certainly has his weaknesses.
oh yeah, for the record I am fine with Gardy. But there is a segment of the internet TwinsFandom that wanted Grady gone 5 years ago.
It's the same part of the fanbase that booed Mauer incessantly.
I'd be happy to see Gardenhire gone if that meant the entire baseball operations department was cleaned out as well. But that kind of thing won't happen unless there's for some crazy reason an ownership change to someone whose name doesn't start with P and end with -ohlad.
We should start a Kickstarter to buy the Twins. Think $600 million would do it?
I think I've got 15 bucks under my bed I can contribute.
We only need 40,000,000 of you!
My support for that would entirely be based on who replaces him/them.
That's a fair point.
Have the other $599,999,985? It could be you!
Time for some giveback runs, Rangers.
Florimon is going to get Dozier's legs broken or spiked hard with these slow paced, high arcing backflipping tosses he does
rally inning time.
maybe next inning
Doing the fan poll about RBI again? Were yesterday's results unsatisfying or somthing?
jeebus. Wild losing 4-0 to freaking Edmonton.
make that 5-0
Collapsing!
So it was written, so it shall be.
people on twitter are tossing out '41-0' jokes willy nilly.
and to me, 41-0 jokes never get old.
41-0 is Legendary.
Josh Harding with a .500 save percentage so far. Which is better than Backstrom's .400 first period percentage.
SIX LOVE NOW. running time is in play
The Wolves clown show is rivaling this collapse. The race to ignominy is on!
I kinda missed out on whats is happening with the Wolves. So Flip is the GM, but he is not, but Kahn still has an office. AWESOME
but then again, I dont think Glen Taylor knows what going on with the team.
I hear Flip wants a piece of the team. So nothing doing, but somebody leaked to Aschburner, so now we have the POBO twisting in the wind and a retread holding the owner hostage for a piece of the team. Nice.
the leak to Asch is Flip himself.
If it is, run like hell away, Glen Taylor.
I'm predicting a final score of 9-0 at this point.
The theme of this game is the word double.
Provus: twins only down by two runs
Me: twins down by two runs
3 game hit streak for Hicks
SEND HIM!!!!
twins baseball.
Aaron Hicks:
- 8 game on-base streak
- 3 game hit streak
- team lead in BB
- BA up to .100 !!!
ooooof
Dick talking about the Tigers 10-0 lead over the Braves to mention Anibal Sanchez's 17 strikeouts. Rather than mentioning his previous high of 14, no it's that Sanchez record against the Braves is 7. WTF? Yes, obviously his previous experience against that specific team matters the most.
I'd like for Joe to go back on a tear again. Remember how fun that was?
I hope Uncle Walt can't see the results. We wouldn't want him to drink himself silly at church.
I've been silently trying to order a drink from him for a while.
And I've silently been outbidding your order. Sorry dude.
Free Escobar!
second.
Or short!
I take it Jeremy Grimm is currently on the inside track for a Cy Young?
ok, the story Dick Bremer was telling about the day the Metrodome's roof started to sag when the Twins were playing the Angles...sounded like a wild time! no wonder why White Sox fans continued to use the 'the grounds crew turn the fans on when the Twins bat' meme until the last days of the Dome.
one of my brothers was at that game
the Rangers have hit 74 doubles this game.
On the bright side, now the Twins won't have to face Nathan.
Parmelee totally foul tipped that ball
I'm dubious.
ARCIA'd!!
AARRRRRRRRRRCIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Rally killer!
So true.
YEHAW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Against Nathan too!
That was like Willingham's line drive homer yesterday. Hit it and gone.
we got runs!
A loss, but refreshing to have one of our prospects get a huge clutch hit.
And below .500 again.
get used to it, folks
Oswaldo Arcia is the king of the three-run homer! So what if the rally fell short? We'll just have to settle for 152-10!
