WGOM Fitness, 16 May 2013: Shedding Like a Dog

I'm not sure exactly what's happening this week, but yeah, shedding like a dog.

I started the week (Monday morning) at 220.6. This morning, I weighed in at 214.1. I stepped on the scale twice to make sure. That's down another 2.1 pounds from yesterday and 6.5 pounds in three days. I kept my intake at about 1800 calories but I did not work out, as this was a travel day.

I knew that 220 was a lot higher than I'd seen before, but 214.1 also represents a pretty low number relative to where I'd been. I can't explain what is going on except to say that part of what was getting into my diet a lot was salt and removing that salt may have resulted in some quick loss. But, in any event, I feel like I can take this program down to the goal weight now.

Last night was a dreadful night of sleep. I had only five hours the night before, having gotten up at 3:30, and yet it was after midnight before I finally fell asleep. So, yeah, not good. Tonight, two of my mother's sisters will be at her house, so I'm not sure that I'll get a workout in (I may have to be socialable), but I do hope that I can get some sleep.

I am in a weight loss mode again, but ultimately, this area of my life is something that needs attention, so I probably have to wake up each day and spend at least a little time mapping out my plan for the day.

  1. I did a duathlon in Glastonbury this morning (7:30AM start). 5K run, 17mi bike, 5K run. Did good on the bike, not as good on the run (as expected), but hey, I showed up. Ended around 1:58, so happy with that.
