LEHIGH VALLEY 14, ROCHESTER 5 IN LEHIGH VALLEY
Batting stars: Joe Benson was 2-for-4 and scored once. Chris Colabello was 1-for-3 with a walk and a grand slam, his twelfth homer of the season.
Pitching stars: Aaron Thompson struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit. Tyler Robertson struck out one in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.
Opposition stars: Pete Orr was 4-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring three times and driving in five. Josh Fields was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple and scored three times. Steve Susdorf was 2-for-4, scoring twice and driving in one.
Key inning: The fifth. Trailing 9-1, the Red Wings threatened to get back into the game. Benson got a one-out single and Antoan Richardson walked. With two out, Chris Herrmann walked and Colabello hit a grand slam to make the score 9-5. In the bottom of the inning, though, the IronPigs came back with five. Cody Overbeck opened the inning with a home run. Josh Fields followed with a triple and scored on a Susdorf single. With one out, Orr singled and Jermaine Mitchell walked to load the bases. A sacrifice fly scored one and a triple by Cody Asche brought in two more to make the score 14-5.
Other: It was another poor outing for Cole DeVries, and one has to wonder if he's truly healthy. He lasted only three innings, giving up nine runs (eight earned) on six hits and three walks.
BINGHAMTON 6, NEW BRITAIN 3 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Deibinson Romero was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, his second. Danny Santana was 2-for-4 with a double. James Beresford was 2-for-4 and scored once.
Pitching stars: A. J. Achter pitched two shutout innings, giving up only a walk. Edgar Ibarra struck out one in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit. Michael Tonkin struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up two hits.
Opposition stars: Cesar Puello was 3-for-4 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in one. Allan Dykstra was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, driving in four. Josh Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring twice and driving in one.
Key inning: The first. With one out, Rodriguez singled, Puello doubled him in, and Dykstra followed with a two-run homer, putting the Mets up 3-0 before the Rock Cats even batted. The damage came off Pat Dean, who gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk in five innings.

Batting stars: Travis Harrison was 3-for-4 with a home run, his seventh, scoring twice. Tyler Grimes was 2-for-4 with a double. Candido Pimentel was 2-for-3 with two walks and scored twice.
Pitching star: Tim Atherton pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Opposition stars: Jeimer Candelario was 4-for-5, scoring once and driving in two. Gioskar Amaya was 2-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, scoring twice. Dan Vogelbach was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Key inning: The sixth. The Kernels trailed 6-4. With one out, a pair of walks put the tying run on base. A two-out wild pitch moved the tying run into scoring position, and another walk loaded the bases. Niko Goodrum then delivered a three-run triple to put Cedar Rapids in front 7-6.
