It's nice that the Royals, despite going for it, have returned to being the Royals. B-R has their SRS just behind the Twins: -0.1 versus 0.1. That said, Jeremy Guthrie is going for the Royals.

Escobar scored from first on a single? Interesting.
Yeah, haven't seen that for a while. Maybe a missed cut-off man?
I'm nervous facing a Jeremy tonight.
I've got a bad feeling about this.
PJ Walters may not be the answer.
depends on the question.
Not to any question I was asking, anyhow.
I'm still trying to figure out how he got P.J. out of Philip DeWayne.
sean, getting texts re: the game from Gene. (he lives in KC now instead of StL)
Was he expecting a division title before the season?
Giveback runs suck.
It's not so much the give back runs as it is the insurance applied to them.
Lovely. Not only did we give up three unearned in the first, we're on pace for a 5-hour game.
well, cr@p -- didn't get the Oliva jersey card OR the Jim Perry autograph card.
Maybe this game will get rained out!!!1111one11!!!!
alright I am here. let the scoring begin
gotta be more specific, dw.
bah, looked promising
Get 'em on, get 'em over, leave 'em stranded.
that sounds like an awesome title of an 80s alt/grungy/punkish band
well on the plus side I shot a round of 56 today after not playing golf for 6 years.
9 holes?
Buxton tonight: 5-5, 2B, 2 3B.
league changer
So, assuming he's up in a year or so, he'll be due for his big FA contract around when Mauer's contract ends? Perfect!
the first month of the season, I thought the Twins were underplaying Escobar, but boy the months of May and June have not been kind. He was batting .378 on April 30, coming into this game he was hitting .227
have to mention this: earlier, i was out weeding and listening to the game and heard dazzle praising mauer's hitting this year. he noted his doubles and batting average, but called his low level of RsBI a "blemish" on his record. thankfully, atterboy chimed in that, perhaps, that might be something out of mauer's control. maybe it was caused by something like, say, having the worst leadoff spot in the league, or something like that.
Unearned runs shouldn't count since they weren't, you know, earned. It sends a bad signal to the Youth of America, leading them to believe you can get something for nothing, and is probably one of the primary causes of our current economic problems. If Bud Selig really cares about this country, he'll do something about this. In the mean time, though, we'll just have to settle for 132-30!
