  1. Yankees scored 2 in the top of the first. The A's scored two in the bottom of the third. Nothing since then and now in the bottom of the 15th. Far enough into the game that the dregs of the bullpen might succeed in ending it soon.

    1. I guess it would have been short, but that might have been the hardest ball he has hit all year

  2. Dick'n'Bert mention Lee's inability to win any games last year. It's as if wins aren't a good reflection of pitcher ability.

  3. Seems like a good place to put my first post on this place from a smartphone. I can't wait for my first confusing autocorrect!

  4. Really? Dozier covers second instead of shortstop with Delmon batting? Smalley even agrees with the silliness of that.

    1. it seems like the Twins always have the 2b dude cover and the hit and runs work

  5. So it's Ace vs Ace night, eh?

The Twins' first frame is gold
    The hardest score to hold.
    Chick only lets one score,
    But they cannot plate more.
    Then Chick subsides to Clete.
    So Eden sank to grief.
So day goes down to night.
The Twins give up the fight.

  6. speaking of Philly, just booked roundtrip to Philly for mid-Sept. for Mrs. Runner and myself -- her brother and S-I-L have a house on the Atlantic in Ocean City rented

      1. I just knew Delmon had something to do with it. It looked like Young has been taking running lessons from him.

    1. Because if they do, everyone will start remembering that we all miss Carlos Gomez.

  7. Burton gets the BS. No more runs please.
Then bring in Dunce for Howard and proceed to win.

  8. Okay, so, tie the game in the bottom of the eighth. Then Duensing pitches the top of the ninth and then walk-off.

    1. Well there's been a Perk save each night this week also, so I'm fine scoring two right now.
A Burton vulture's just as good in my book.

  9. I hope Thielbar continues to be good solely for the fact that his parents went to high school with my dad.

  10. As you may have noticed, Cliff Lee is pretty good. It's certainly no disgrace to lose to him. On the plus side, the Twins won't face him again this year. So, we'll just have to settle for 128-34!

      1. True, but we had scored two runs. I think Lee gets some credit for that.

Besides, when did people start taking my comments at the end of the game log seriously?
