Minnesota did not have a first round pick due to the late season acquisition of Jason Pominville. They did, however, manage to land some first round talent trading fan favorite Cal Clutterbuck and a third round pick (#70 overall) to the New York Islanders for forward Nino Niederreiter - selected 5th overall in the 2010 draft.
They also sent defenseman Justin Falk to the New York Rangers for restricted free-agent forward Benn Ferriero and a sixth-round pick.
In the second round, they took defenseman Gustav Olofsson, with the #46 pick overall.
Last week, the Wild signed goalie Niklas Backstrom to a 3-year contract worth $10.25 million.
