...has it really been seventeen years since I saw that silly thing in the theaters? I still distinctly remember the buzz after the Super Bowl commercial that showed nothing but the exploding White House.
Seventeen years?? Whoa. I thought it was crazy when Jurassic Park had its 20 year, but Independence Day feels like it came out a looong time after that.
That was in the theaters when a blackout hit much of the western United States. The myth that I remember was that some people were watching the movie and the aliens had just attacked when the theater went dark. It affected such a large area, it was probably true somewhere.
Welcome to Earth.
Of course, you mean "urf".
I've watched 5 episodes of "Adventure Time" today on Netflix and all I have to say is - What the hell?
That has been my opinion after about the same number of episodes.
It's not bad per se, I am just not quite sure what is going on exactly.
Although I have a definite daily maximum intake, I took to it right away.
Runner daughter and I watch it religiously. WTH? is a good description; it's humorously oddball and has some great guest voices.
Twins DFA Walters.
Hmm. I enjoyed his success when he had it because I'm pretty sure he was a non-prospect AAA filler.
But I don't expect him to contribute going forward, and if the Twins are relying upon him every fifth day, I won't expect them to improve.
If another team wants him, they should take him, and I wish him the best of luck. (Unless its the Yanquis that claim him.)
@KohlStewart1 gives up 1 R on 2 H & 0 BBs w/ 2 Ks in pro debut for GCL Twins today.— Darin McGilvra (@SoCalTwinsfan) July 5, 2013
Time to pull some pork. Happy 4th Independence Day, Nation.
*punch* Welcome to Earth. *punch* FTFY.
I saw the tail end of that movie last night. Goodness, but it is awful.
Oh, gosh, yes. The punch scene (that I apparently misremembered) still makes me smile, though.
I probably haven't seen that movie since the '90s and I'm not actually certain I've seen it since the theater.
alien invasion movies that turn on incredibly-advanced aliens being morons AND defeatable by ragtag irregulars are annoying. noisy explosions in the vacuum of space are insulting.
150 years ago today... the siege of Vicksburg ended. The Union had control of the Mississippi.
