There is a game at noon
Samuel 'Ace' Deduno vs. Phil Hughes
Baby steps now, fellas... let's try for a run, then we can get to the details of how to keep Robinson Cano from bolstering his MVP case.

hows that for luck. Ball hits Deduno's cleat, caroms into CF and the Yanks score a run. jeesh
PLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUFFFFE
Over the fence!
Hughes with 5 ks out of the 6 outs recorded.
I make too much out of small things sometimes, and this is probably a case of that. Still, it bugs me.
Shortly before the game, FSN ran a clip of Gardy talking about the team. I don't know if it was recorded last night or this morning, but Gardy sounded like he was completely defeated, like his team has no chance. I'm not talking about anything specific that he said, I'm talking about his tone and his attitude.
I understand losing drags you down, but darn it, he's the manager. It's his job to get the boys fired up. It's his job to convince them that they can win, even if he doesn't believe it himself. If the manager sounds like he doesn't believe in his team, how is the team going to believe in itself? They're beaten before they start.
Again, I tend to make too much out of small things. There are lots of reasons the Twins are losing. I just think it would be more helpful if the manager was enthusiastic and encouraging, rather than depressed and discouraged.
You should petition the front office to hire a Chaplin.
It seems to me that if you can't get hits with men in scoring position, making productive outs probably isn't going to make a lot of difference.
How can a team go 0-15 with RISP?
The way things are going, when the Twins do get a hit with runners in scoring position, it'll be a hard single with a runner on second, and the runner won't be able to score.
The same way a batter goes through an 0-for-15. SSS is a pain sometimes.
You'd think I would remember that from my Little League days. 0-15 was not uncommon for me.
YDNRORD?
Walks the 9th batter in the lineup, Har.
And then guns him down at two-bag, Hodor.
We sure do run ourselves into a lot of outs.
The Yankees' half of the sixth. A perfect time to go make some lunch...
DOUMIT!
Whatever happens, I am in favor of leaving Deduno in the game here.
Of course they're going to call Thomas out. That was one of the few things that hadn't been checked off the list yet.
What a horrible, horrible call at first.
wow, terrible call by the ump.
Thomas was RIGHT ON THE LINE. son of a .....
His right foot hit chalk with every frigging step...
The only leg to stand on with that call was his last step, and when you're running out a play like that, how can that last step matter? If you don't step into fair territory, you're not even going to hit the bag.
FLORIMONEY!
Florimoney. thats a keeper
I just hope we get to use it frequently.
HELL YEAH FLORIMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bunt hit! Hicks just bought himself another month in the majors.
man oh man, Fien had an easy double play.
glove save by the Moneyman
I don't think this rule is being applied correctly.
think about this:
And I just realized I'm about 20 minutes behind due to sucky internet.
Why was Zoilo not called for running out of the basepath on that play? He ran the exact same route that Clete did.
Win? What's that? I don't understand.
TWINS WIN!
The radio guys couldn't remember how the post-game stuff goes after the Twins win.
Even YES cant believe the Yankees got this call
I just caught the replay.
1. What's with that Yanqui uniform abomination? The only thing I repect the Yanqs about is their unis. They mess with them outside MLB's required league-wide stars-and-stripes ca$h grab$, and they're about to lose that.
2. Clete's face on the play is awesome. I bet he's thinking about that one hit in the grand scheme of things. You realize how little I hit the ball, right? I get an out instead of one of my few precious hits for that???
Clete always looks like that. He's a wide-eyed Hunter Pence wannabe
Stupid call. Hats off to the Tool for getting tossed on it.
I think that's the last one the Twins get all year.
On track for 38-124.
Anti-MofC.
Aug 6 1996 has the Twins playing California
sabremetric Rickroll
Make that Aug. 6, 1994.
Pat Mahomes! Pedro Munoz! Chip Hale!
memories.
Spent the day painting and the Twins win. Good news then, as I'm going to spend another day tomorrow painting.
What are you painting?
Walls and ceilings. And a closet.
Noble subject matter. 😉
I painted our bathroom a few weeks ago. Celtic Gray was the paint company's name for the color, but to me it just looks blue.
Twayn, I thought you reserved "working blue" for Truck Time?
Who needs hits with men in scoring position? Just hit a few balls over the fence and have Ace Duderino take care of the rest! It's an unbeatable combination! We're still on track for 109-53!
