        1. Now they know what to do with their last names in case they ever marry each other.

  1. The Indians announcer just said "Masterson is making his first second half start."

Challenge: Use as many of the words: first, second, third, etc. in a grammatically correct sentence without simply listing the terms.

    1. Hold on a second, first I've got to buy a fifth of bourbon for our Fourth party: today's the third and liquor stores are closed tomorrow.

    2. Masterson is making his second start against the Twins in third game of the first series after the break in the fourth month of the baseball season.

  2. flipped to the White Sox game during the commercials and Hawk Harrelson showering love towards umpire Hunter Wendelstadt. Sounds about right.

  3. Big Flats (Walgreen's brand beer) is surprisingly not-terrible. At $3.30/sixer that gets upgraded to definitely drinkable.

      1. Loved the "OH!" at the end of the National Anthem. That is perhaps the only enjoyable thing that Orioles fans have ever done.

          1. I'm putting line for +/- on the 12th minute for when I mute this and put on music. I may take the under on myself on this one.

            1. At least FOX is consistent in putting the worst commentators on their marquee games.

            1. Most of them are former players that have no idea what to say *cough* Bert *cough*. McBride doesn't have strong broadcast voice, but he at least provides some analysis.

          1. I don't remember which game it was, but I liked Twellman the last time I remember seeing him. The problem is Darke and McBride are employed by different broadcasters and I was trying to be semi-realistic (ie these games were an ESPN broadcast). In a perfect world, I'd be with the DPWY and have Darke on his own.

Regardless, we can all be in agreement that we're very thankful it's not Ian Wright, right?

        1. At least Gus has figured out he can't call soccer games. So he just punches out names and tells viewers exactly what is happening on the screen.

      1. Why Besler and not Gonzalez? If the "A" team isn't going to play, I would think that Besler should be higher on the center back totem pole than Gonzalez and his two brain cramps each game.

  4. 'if it has four legs and moving, Im wagering' Tom Kelly talks about rumors he has heard about himself.

    1. Thank me now. I started watching and Dozier gets a hit.

Thank you MLB.com free game of the day.

    1. Wynalda seems to think that Goodson wasn't called for a penalty because of a "new rule." There was no point in history when a player would have been called for a penalty (by a competent referee) for that play.

  5. The drop-off from Bradley to Beckerman is like going from Mauer to Butera.

  6. I like how Wynalda is a little baffled that DMB, a left winger converted to left back, is getting ahead into the attack instead of Parkhurst, the born-and-bred defender.

    1. Gus has an excuse for not know anything about the sport and players. Wynalda does not.

        1. I don't know what the alternative is (Fabian Johnson maybe?). DMB has been way better than I expected, but it still seems like he'll get torched by a top-rate team. I can't even imagine him if the US happens to draw Germany.

      1. He gets burned pretty consistently when there's anyone good playing on the offensive right. I like him going forward but as a defender he makes way too many mistakes.

    1. Yeah, El Salvador was pretty disorganized there too. There should be more goals coming.

  7. At least this means El Salvador will be discouraged from parking the bus for all ninety minutes.

  8. Hey Mags, I bet Fox could have hired me for a lot less than this Dr. Joe clown they're been trotting out all Gold Cup, but I don't come with a Ph.D.

  9. Not great work from Beckerman there. Beasley (?) was just to his left. A little toe poke would have done, not that sliding hack to no one in particular.

  10. Diskerud needs to get yanked here. He's lunging on defense and not helping calm things at all.

  11. Beckerman, EJ, Shea - those are some bad do's

  12. So it appears the Twins were trying to play both a baseball game and a soccer game at the same time yesterday. That has to be difficult to do, and it's no surprise one of them suffered. As long as they don't try to do that again, we should have nothing to worry about. We'll just have to settle for 108-54!
