ROCHESTER 5, SYRACUSE 3 IN SYRACUSE

Batting stars:  Oswaldo Arcia was 3-for-4 with a home run, his eighth.  Eric Farris was 1-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.  Antoan Richardson was 1-for-4 with a walk and scored twice.

Pitching stars:  Andrew Albers pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and two walks while striking out four.  Edgar Ibarra struck out four in 2.1 perfect innings.

Opposition stars:  Chris Marrero was 2-for-4 and scored once.  Eury Perez was 2-for-4.  Zach Walters hit a three-run homer in the ninth.

Key inning:  The seventh.  The Rock Cats already led 2-0.  Drew Butera and Richardson hit consecutive one-out singles and a wild pitch moved them to second and third.  Farris then hit a two-run ground-rule double to make the score 4-0.

Prospect watch:  Chris Parmelee was 1-for-5.

BINGHAMTON 5, NEW BRITAIN 3 IN NEW BRITAIN

Batting stars:  Miguel Sano was 2-for-4 with a home run (his eighth), scoring twice.  Danny Santana was 2-for-5 with a double.  Eddie Rosario was 2-for-5.

Pitching stars:  Daniel Turpen pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk with one strikeout.  Dakota Watts pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.  Cole Johnson struck out three in a scoreless inning, giving up no hits and one walk.

Opposition stars:  Josh Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with two walks and two doubles, scoring twice and driving in one.  Alonzo Harris was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Allan Dykstra was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.

Key inning:  The seventh.  The Rock Cats had scored in the sixth to cut the Mets lead to 4-3.  Binghamton got the run back on a Harris single, a Rodriguez double, and a sacrifice fly.

Prospect watch:  Nate Hanson was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run, his fifth.  Josmil Pinto was 0-for-4.

FORT MYERS 1, BREVARD COUNTY 0 IN BREVARD COUNTY

Batting stars:  Levi Michael was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Jhon Goncalves was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching stars:  Jason Wheeler pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three hits and two walks with four strikeouts before being removed following a rain delay.  Adrian Salcedo struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and no walks.  Tyler Jones struck out two in a perfect inning.

Opposition star:  Brent Suter struck out six in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks.

Key inning:  The seventh.  It was a scoreless tie.  With one out, Stephen Wickens reached on an error, went to second on a walk to Kyle Knudson, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Michael single.

Prospect watch:  Byron Buxton was 1-for-5.  Aderlin Mejia was 1-for-5 with a double.  Kennys Vargas was 0-for-2 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch.  Mike Kvasnicka was 0-for-4.

CEDAR RAPIDS 2, FORT WAYNE 1 IN FORT WAYNE

Batting stars:  Jorge Polanco was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.  Jonathan Murphy was 2-for-3 with two walks.  Adam Brett Walker II was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his twenty-first.

Pitching stars:  Mason Melotakis struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk.  David Hurlbut struck out three in three perfect innings.

Opposition stars:  Joseph Ross pitched six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Chris Burke was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The TinCaps had just taken a 1-0 lead.  Polanco led off the sixth with a single.  With one out, Walker II hit a two-run homer, which was all the runs the Kernels would need.

Prospect watch:  Max Kepler was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.

DANVILLE 5, ELIZABETHTON 4 IN ELIZABETHTON

Batting stars:  Dereck Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run homer (his seventh), scoring twice.  Stuart Turner was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

Pitching stars:  Carson Goldsmith struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  C. K. Irby struck out one in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Opposition stars:  Andry Ubiera struck out six in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks.  Mikey Reynolds was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once.  Victor Caratini was 1-for-3 with two walks and a home run, scoring twice.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The score was tied at four.  Caratini led off the inning for Danville with a home run off Brandon Peterson, who came in to start the inning.

Prospect watch:  Zach Granite was 1-for-5.  Romy Jimenez was 1-for-4.

DSL AMERICAN LEAGUE ALL-STARS 3, DSL NATIONAL LEAGUE ALL-STARS 1

Twins:  Joel Ramirez was 0-for-1.  Eduardo Del Rosario struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

American League stars:  None.  No AL player got more than one hit or more than one RBI, none got an extra-base hit, and none pitched more than one inning.

National League stars:  Hector Vargas was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Melvi Salazar struck out three in two shutout innings, allowing one hit.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The score was tied at one.  Angel Aguilar walked, went to second on a single by Ayendy Perez, went to third on a hit batsman, and scored on a sacrifice fly to give the American League a 2-1 lead.
