Rochester comes back to win its seventh straight.  Sano hits a game-winner for the Rock Cats.  Josh Burris leads the E-Twins to victory.

ROCHESTER 5, LEHIGH VALLEY 4 IN LEHIGH VALLEY

Batting starsJames Beresford was 2-for-4 and scored twice.  Drew Butera was 2-for-4 and scored once.  Brian Dinkelman was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Pitching starsLuis Perdomo retired all five batters he faced, striking out four of them.  Michael Tonkin struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Zach Miner pitched five shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks with one strikeout.  Tyler Henson was 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.  Pete Orr was 3-for-4 with a triple.

Key inning:  The ninth.  The Red Wings had scored two in the eighth to cut a 4-0 deficit to 4-2.  With one out in the ninth, consecutive singles by Dinkelman, Beresford, and Butera loaded the bases.  A walk to Jermaine Mitchell cut the lead to 4-3 and a walk to Eduardo Escobar tied the score.  With two out, Oswaldo Arcia walked to put Rochester ahead.

Prospect watchEscobar was 0-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.  Chris Parmelee was 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Arcia was 0-for-4 with two RBIs.  Liam Hendriks pitched 6.1 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

NEW BRITAIN 5, AKRON 4 IN NEW BRITAIN (12 INNINGS)

Batting starsDan Rohlfing was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and an RBI.  Miguel Sano was 2-for-5 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Danny Santana was 2-for-5 with a walk and scored twice.

Pitching starsTrevor May pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.  Daniel Turpen pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Matt Hauser retired all four batters he faced, striking out two.

Opposition stars:  Toru Murata struck out eight in six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks.  Tyler Holt was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI.  Matt Lawson was 2-for-5 with a triple.

Key inning:  The twelfth.  The score was tied at three.  In the top of the inning, Jake Lowery hit a one-out double, went to third on a ground out, and scored on a wild pitch to give the Aeros a 4-3 lead.  In the bottom half, Santana walked, Eddie Rosario singled, and Sano hit a two-run double to win the game.

Prospect watchRosario was 2-for-6 and scored once.  Josmil Pinto was 1-for-3 with a walk.

FORT MYERS 5, DAYTONA 2 IN FORT MYERS

Batting starsDalton Hicks was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Levi Michael was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Pitching starsMatthew Summers pitched four shutout innings, giving up three hits and four walks with three strikeouts.  Chad Rodgers struck out two in two perfect innings.  Tyler Jones struck out two in a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Dayan Diaz struck out seven in three shutout innings, giving up no hits but three walks.  Anthony Giansanti was 2-for-4 with a walk and a home run.

Key inning:  The third.  The Miracle led 2-0.  Fort Myers started the inning with singles by J. D. Williams, Hicks, and Kennys Vargas, loading the bases.  A wild pitch brought in one run and a two-out triple by Jhon Goncalves made it 5-0.

Prospect watchAderlin Mejia was 0-for-5.  Vargas was 1-for-4 and scored once.  Mike Kvasnicka was 0-for-2 with two walks and scored once.

BURLINGTON 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN BURLINGTON

Batting starsAdam Brett Walker II was 2-for-4 with a triple and scored once.  Max Kepler was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Pitching starsChristian Powell struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks.  Hudson Boyd pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Tyler DeLoach struck out eleven in 5.a innings, allowing one run on two hits and three walks.  Wade Hinkle was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in three.  Exicardo Cayones was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once.

Key inning:  The seventh.  The Bees led 2-1.  A walk, a single, and a walk loaded the bases with none out and a two-run Hinkle single made it 4-1 Burlington.

Key inning:  The third.  The Twins led 1-0.  With one out, Haar singled and Mitch Garver doubled.  A two-out walk to Jimenez loaded the bases and Kelvin Ortiz tripled to make it 4-0.

Batting star:  Jonatan Hinojosa was 1-for-3 and scored once.  The Twins had only two hits.

Pitching stars:  Stephen Gonsalves started and struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.  Josh Guyer pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Lester Oliveros (remember him?), on a rehab assignment, pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  Andres Aguilar was 2-for-3 with a walk and two doubles, scoring twice and driving in one.  Stefan Crichton pitched two perfect innings with two strikeouts.

Key inning:  The eighth.  The score was tied at two.  Aguilar led off with a double and scored on a one-out double by Ronarsy Ledesma to put the Orioles in the lead.

  1. After a little bit of a slow start, Miguel is starting to figure AA out. .240/.348/.558. Also, Byron Keiron Buxton. I like it! A two sacker should be a BK Double.
