KANSAS CITY - The Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals baseball teams will play a series of games against each other this week, according to public documents released by both teams and confirmed by Major League Baseball officials. The Minnesota and Kansas City teams will play three evening games in the series, one each on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. They will play the games at Kauffman Stadium, the home field for the Royals located at 1 Royal Way adjacent to Interstate Highway 70 on the east side of Kansas City. Both the Twins and the Royals are assigned to the five-team American League Central Division of Major League Baseball.
The first game of the series is scheduled to begin Monday at 7:10 p.m. Central Daylight Savings Time. The visiting Minnesota Twins have announced that Kevin Correia will be their probable starting pitcher for the game on Monday, while the Kansas City Royals named Jeremy Guthrie as their probable starting pitcher. The right-handed throwing Correia and Guthrie were both starting pitchers in a game the two teams played in Minneapolis just five days ago. The Royals won that game by a score of four to three, and won all three games of that series, a feat referred to in the sport as a 'sweep'.
Monday's game will be the fourteenth that the two teams have played against each other in the current baseball season. To date this year, Kansas City has won ten games against Minnesota while Minnesota has beat Kansas City in just three games. Baseball experts have deemed this year's Kansas City Royals team to be mediocre, while they characterize the Minnesota Twins as simply bad. Neither team is expected to win their regular season division title or to secure a position in the Major League Baseball post-season tournament.
Hey Rows, I'm going to monopolize a big screen at DJ's Dugout tonight, if you're bored...
Thanks for the offer, Rhu_Ru, but we just sat down to dinner out here in the western 'Burbs. Give me a heads up next time you're in town.
will do.
probably good you weren't here; it's better than I make a huge mess with this western BBQ burger in the presence of a few strangers than anyone I knew
What does any of this have to do with ARod?
Exactly.
When my youngest daughter got home last night, she informed us she had gone to the Twins game with her boyfriend. Both attending the game and having a boyfriend were news to me.
she wasn't talking about Joe?
Twayn, this story is frighteningly similar to what the AI comes up with on videogames.
I'm not surprised, my intelligence has always been artificial.
It should be "the Kauffman Field", then
Bad outfield.
Among other things...
Runners on 1st & 3rd, one out, no runs. That was positively Twinsian offense by the Royals ballclub.
Twinsian. I'm stealing that.
ARod just had his first AB and was booed. He hit a bloop single. Underwhelming all around.
BTW, the antibiotics have kicked in and the tooth is feeling much better. Root canal tomorrow at noon.

Pelfrey, that was embarrassing.
What about Correia?
I was assuming he was using "Pelfrey" as a curse word.
Correia,Pelphrey what's the difference.
That's what I typed. D@mn BBQ-slathered fingers
Bases packed with nobody out. C'mon Royals, do it the Twins way!
Hey Correia, stop playing Twins baseball.
Correia!
Boo.
the ol' 2nd inning wall tonight, eh?
Correia's Gameday mugshot looks like it would be really easy to photoshop so he looks like a pumpkin.
No need, he just turned into one.
oh Pelfrey, I didn't realize the dessert would be this large. I'm not going to need breakfast tomorrow
at this rate, I'm hoping the coverage cuts away for ARod's next AB
Forbidden Zone:
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop drinking.
JMWAIS
Shame the chairman, shame the people.
Hello and goodnight.
That about sums up my attitude towards the game too.
this work laptop is blocking embedded images/video; I'm assuming Abe Simpson .GIF?
Aye
Correia's wall creeps steadily forward every game he starts.
has he reached his pitch count yet? because he's reached mine.
Ugh. I just got back from the place I was housesitting today, and I raced to get this PS3 set up so I could see as much of the game as possible.
Correia's ERA is reaching Kardashian proportions.
Nice Puig - Punto - Ellis play to gun down Craig at the plate
*watching the neighboring big screen instead*
So 2 innings, 6 runs doesn't count as a "Quality Start"?
Sure, for the Royals offense.
dumb. dumb dumb dumb.
repeat.
You can say that again.
Heads up base running by D'oh-mit.
And Plouff-duh.
I think Dazzle got the better deal tonight.
Bad pitching, fielding and running. It's the trifecta of suck.
a five-stool performance
Plouffe bought the railing, but made the highlight reel.
laptop battery is sucking fumes; time to shut down and walk back to the hotel...
Maybe it will be Pelfrey pitching by the time you get there!
Twins picked the wrong two weeks to face the Royals 6 games out of 9...
And if all the hippies cut off their hair, I don't care, I don't care.
Kottaras with a .164 avg.
Higher OPS than every Twin except Mauer.
Didn't mean to nest that, but It'll work...
The mind boggles.
21 walks to 12 hits in 68 at-bats? Hicks was attempting a stat line like that early in the year, but looks like Kottaras is better at it.
Perfect time to continue reading my book*

If I was Gardy, I'd pick a fight with the ump and get thrown out so I could go do something less aggravating than manage for the rest of this game.
Since I'm me, I'll just stop watching the game.
Jamey Carroll takes the mound!
heh.
Jamey Carroll pitching?
awesome
3 easy outs? even more awesome
Carroll turning the ball over pretty good! good sink!
That's not sink, that's gravity.
Carroll with a Jeremy inning.
Good thing they have a 13-man pitching staff.
I zoned out so I missed the Jamey Carroll perfect inning.
Yeah, I'm a little bummed that I bailed on this one a couple innings too early.
i missed the crappy parts but got to see that.
Hooray, MLB.tv! I can see it!
Everyone knows that thirteen is an unlucky number. That bad luck for Kansas City, combined with how tired the Royals must be from running around the bases all night, pretty much assures victory for the Twins. We'll just have to settle for 101-61!
