Oh, also True Widow - Circumambulation. It's almost like what would happen if you turned the Goslings down a little bit. Just got it yesterday, but I'm already on my third time through the album.

Two Replacements songs on the eve of their first concert in 19 years. Nice. In three weeks I will be seeing them myself when Riotfest hits Chicago. Here's the daily line-up. That Saturday looks like a killer.
My first Foo Fighters album was There is Nothing Left to Lose, followed quickly by The Colour and the Shape. As a result, I only ever picked up the debut album as part of a completist urge. I think that's why I don't have the same regard for that album as I do for the other early Foo Fighters records.
Agree. I don't think it's aged very well either. It doesn't get a whole lot of listens from me.
I'm a long Gone Daddy - Hank The First
Texas Uphere Tennessee - Billy Joe Shaver
Purina Hall Of Fame - Propagandhi
Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
Trani - Kings Of Leon
California Girls - The Beach Boys
Bryn - Vampire Weekend
Transatlantic Foe - At The Drive In
Couldn't Cause Me Harm - Beth Orton
Apple Tree - Erykah Badu
I Got Mine - The Black Keys
So, it's going to be that kind of day.
At the Drive-in is one of those bands that is always about 5th or 6th on my "I should really check them out" list. (yes, I know they aren't exactly new)
I'm ambivalent about them now. I really have to be in the mood for droning noise, and lately I just haven't really wanted my ears split open.
That first Badu album is pretty good, if a bit samey from track to track. I need to go add it to my iTunes, and then put three songs on my iPod.
.
.
1. Go Back to Your Woods - Robbie Robertson - Storyville
2. Who'll Stop the Rain - CCR - Chronicle, Vol. 1

10. Sad Mood - Sam Cooke - Portrait of a Legend
Solid.
okay.

Molly's Lips is in the conversation for favorite song Nirvana released. I've listened to the Vaselines original version a few times too. Good song.
Sliver ftw.
(without thinking hard of course.)
I have that Robbie album on cassette. I should get that in my iTunes somehow.
I first heard Rod Stewart's version of "Broken Arrow".
Runner daughter and I watched Cloud Atlas last night, so today I'm listening to the soundtrack.
1. "Better" - Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope
2. "Falling For You" - Weezer - Pinkerton

*Notes:
1. This didn't impress me that much when it came out, but it's shown up in my shufflin' a few times this last week and I'm digging it. Sounds like something that could have come out between Autechre and Aphex Twin and μ-ziq and others on Warp or Rephlex in the late 90s.
4. Low cover.
7. Ice is Kevin Martin a/k/a the Bug a/k/a Techno Animal with some collaborators. This song features Blixa Bargeld from Einstürzende Neubauten and Sebastian from New Kingdom (the one from the 90's). It's decent, but with that lineup it should be at least ten times more awesome.
8. Last time I listened to this, I don't think I knew the Patsy original. Didn't even realize I had any Dylan on my iPod.
T. I see. I know.
I try and try to get into Actress. It just doesn't work. I kind of liked the "London Zoo" album that the Bug did (if that's the same person), but haven't ever really followed up with him at all.
With Actress this time I wasn't trying and it worked better. Didn't listen to all, just "This is nice: what is it?".
That's the same Bug. Porter Ricks vs. Techno Animal is where I started. Wow fuzz techno hiphop minimal.

Why can't I remember this song?
I don't know.
It's one of my favorite tracks on the CD. After all, everybody wants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads.
Now I've re-listened to it and it's still not ringing any bells.
