Venezuelan View: Games of 10/30

Yorman Landa makes a perfect Venezuelan debut.  Zulia zooms on La Guaira boots.  Lots of blowouts.

The game:  It was scoreless until the fifth, when Montilla hit a two-run triple.  He eventually came around to score and give Margarita a 3-0 lead.  Margarita added one in the sixth and two in the seventh.  Both Lara runs came in the eighth.

ZULIA 8, LA GUAIRA 2 IN ZULIA

Twins:  Yorman Landa (La Guaira) struck out two in two perfect innings.

The game:  La Guaira scored two in the first, but then Zulia took over.  Two errors led to three Zulia runs in the second, and Zulia added five more in the fourth, aided by two more errors.  All four La Guaira errors were throwing errors.

ANZOATEGUI 14, MAGALLANES 6 IN MAGALLANES

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in two.

The game:  Anzoategui led 3-1 after four.  A two-run error in the fifth made it 5-1.  A two-run double by Aldridge made it 7-2 in the sixth, and that was pretty much the ballgame.
