LOS MOCHIS 4, MEXICALI 1 IN LOS MOCHIS
Mexicali: Kevin Kouzmanoff (Miami) was 2-for-4 with a double. Xorge Carrillo (Mest) was 2-for-4. Javier Solano struck out three in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk.
Los Mochis: Emmanuel Avila was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Thomas Melgarejo pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
The game: Chris Roberson homered to open the game for Mexicali, but that was as good as it got for them. Los Mochis scored two in the second on an Avila single and a sacrifice fly and two more in the fourth on a two-run double by Sergio Perez. Mexicali loaded the bases in the second and got two on in the fourth, but did not do much after that.
GUASAVE 3, NAVOJOA 1 IN NAVOJOA (GAME 1--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)
Guasave: Eduardo Arredondo was 2-for-4 with a run. Jose Rodriguez was 1-for-2 with a walk and a home run. Juan Delgadillo struck out six in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.
Navojoa: Wes Bankston was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Rolando Accosta was 2-for-3.
The game: Bankston had an RBI single in the first to put Navojoa up 1-0. Guasave tied it in the third on a Jesus Cota homer and went ahead in the fourth on a Jose Rodriguez homer. Guasave added an insurance run in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk. Navojoa did not get a man past first after the first inning.
NAVOJOA 9, GUASAVE 4 NAVOJOA (GAME 2--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)
Guasave: Eduardo Arredondo was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Ivan Araujo was 2-for-3 with a run.
Navojoa: Rolando Accosta was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs. Alan Sanchez was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Delwyn Young was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs.
The game: Guasave scored one in the second to go ahead 1-0, but Navojoa got seven in the fourth to take control of the game. Young and Luis Fonseca each hit a three-run homer in the inning.
OBREGON 6, HERMOSILLO 2 IN HERMOSILLO
Obregon: Barbaro Canizares was 3-for-3 with a walk and a two-run homer, his fifth. Donald Lutz was 2-for-5 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Steve Hammond pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
Hermosillo: Yunesky Sanchez was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fourth. Carlos Gastelum was 2-for-4.
The game: Lutz hit an RBI double in the first and an error plated a run in the second to give Obregon a 2-0 lead. Hermosillo scored in the bottom of the second on a Sanchez homer. Canizares hit a two-run homer in the third and Obregon added to more in the fourth to take control of the game.
