GLENDALE 1, SCOTTSDALE 0 IN SCOTTSDALE
Twins: Eddie Rosario was 1-for-4. Max Kepler was 2-for-3 with a walk. Alex Meyer struck out seven in 5.2 innings, giving up one hit and one walk. A. J. Achter retired all four men he faced, striking out one.
Glendale: Twins players were the only one who did anything notable.
Scottsdale: Kyle Crick (San Francisco) struck out five in three shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks. Brett Gerritse (Yankees) struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks.
The game: The game's lone run came in the seventh on an RBI single by Brent Keys (Miami). Scottsdale did not get a hit until the fifth and only once got a man as far as second base.
SALT RIVER 3, PEORIA 1 IN PEORIA
Salt River: Aaron Sanchez (Toronto) struck out eight in five innings, giving up an unearned run on no hits and one walk. Tyler Matzek (Colorado) struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.
Peoria: The team had only four hits, all singles.
The game: James Ramsey (St. Louis) led off the game with a homer and Kyle Parker (Colorado) hit a two-run shot in the first to give Salt River a 3-0 lead. Peoria scored its lone run in the fifth on a hit batsman and two errors. They got the tying run on base in the sixth.
MESA 6, SURPRISE 1 IN MESA
Surprise: Tyler Naquin (Cleveland) was 2-for-4.
Mesa: C. J. Cron (Angels) was 4-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, scoring once and driving in two. Addison Russell (Oakland) was 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs. Sammy Solis (Washington) struck out five in 4.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and one walk.
The game: Devon Travis hit a two-run single in a three-run first for Mesa. They added two in the fourth and were never threatened.
