Twins: Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 2-for-5.
Zulia: Ender Inciarte (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double. Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-5 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one. Wilfredo Boscan pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and one walk.
Anzoategui: Cory Aldridge was 3-for-5 with a home run, his sixth. Niuman Romero was 2-for-5 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one. T. J. McFarland (Baltimore) pitched six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
The game: A two-run wild pitch capped a three-run inning for Zulia in the fourth, putting Zulia ahead 3-0. In the eighth, Anzoategui got three of their own to tie the score. Zulia got another three-run inning in the eleventh, with two runs scoring on bases-loaded walks and the third on a ground out. Anzoategui led off the bottom of the eleventh with back-to-back homers by Aldridge and Oscar Salazar, but only got a two-out single by Escobar after that.
LARA 3, ARAGUA 2 IN LARA
Twins: Oswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 3-for-4 with a double and a home run, his second. Josmil Pinto (Aragua) was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Dakota Watts (Aragua) pitched one inning, giving up one run on two hits and one walk.
Aragua: Gumercindo Gonzalez retired all five batters he faced with one strikeout.
Lara: Joc Pederson (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Chris Jakubauskas pitched 6.1 innings, allowing one run on six hits and no walks.
The game: Arcia hit a home run in the seventh to tie the score at two. In the ninth, Tomas Perez singled in Pederson with the winning run for Lara.
LA GUAIRA 4, MARGARITA 3 IN LA GUAIRA (11 INNINGS)
Margarita: Caleb Joseph (Baltimore) was 3-for-5 with a home run, his second. Alberto Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double. Manny Pina was 2-for-4 with a double.
La Guaira: Andy Wilkins (White Sox) was 3-for-5 with a double. Alex Cabrera was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Yorfrank Lopez (Detroit) struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.
The game: Four two-out singles in the seventh produced two runs for Margarita and tied the score at three. In the eleventh, Luis Sardinas (Texas) delivered a two-out RBI single for La Guaira to end the game.
MAGALLANES 6, CARACAS 2 IN MAGALLANES
Caracas: Bobby Abreu was 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once.
Magallanes: Allan Dykstra (Mets) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Frank Diaz was 2-for-4 with a run. Mitch Lively (San Francisco) pitched six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and five walks with one strikeout.
The game: Magallanes took a 2-0 lead in the first and Caracas tied it with two in the third. It remained 2-2 until sixth. Eliezer Alfonzo hit a three-run homer for Magallanes to make it 5-2 and another run scored on a wild pitch to make it 6-2. Caracas got only one baserunner after that.
