Australian Audit: Games of 11/15

A good day for Logan Wade.  Jacob May homers for a Sydney win.  A big inning lifts Adelaide.

SYDNEY 10, BRISBANE 8 IN BRISBANE

Twins:  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

Sydney:  Joey DeMichele (White Sox) was 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.  Jacob May (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and scored twice.  Keon Broxton (Arizona) was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and scored twice.

Brisbane:  Joey Rickard (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.  Andrew Campbell (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs.  Matt Bates pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits and one walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Sydney had leads of 6-1 and 7-2.  Brisbane scored two in the fifth to cut it to 7-4.  In the sixth, Tyler Goeddel hit a two-run single to cap a four-run inning and give Brisbane an 8-6 advantage.  In the eighth, Trent D'Antonio hit an RBI double to tie the score and May hit a two-run homer to give Sydney a 10-8 lead.  A pair of walks put two on with two out in the ninth for Brisbane.

ADELAIDE 4, MELBOURNE 2 IN MELBOURNE

Adelaide:  Joe Sclafani (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.  Ben Lodge was 2-for-5 with a run.  David Holman (Seattle) pitched 5.2 innings, giving up two unearned runs on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts.

Melbourne:  Jared Schlehuber (Kansas City) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in one.  Freddy Flores struck out four in two shutout innings, allowing on hits and one walk.

The game:  James Baldwin (Dodgers) hit a two-run single, leading to a four-run fourth that put Adelaide ahead 4-0.  Melbourne got both runs in the bottom of the sixth on an error, a hit batsman, a wild pitch, and a Schlehuber single.  Melbourne only got one man on base after that.
