I will admit that when you linked to this previously on the BoF, I didn't expect the title to be quite so literal a description of the music. I'm still not sure that I'm not missing something.
Listen to it for a few hours in a row. The atypical rhythms and melodies are psychedelic.
Not meaning "for listening to after consuming perception-orienting chemicals", but "perception-altering" on their own.
For more details on the recording, the liner notes are available here.
I looked for any live version of "What I Like About You" and "To See More Light" and good versions of "Water" and "Fall Back" and "Aaliyah".
But didn't find any and anyways, I put links in the Best of 2013 FMD column.
I forgot to look for Ha Ha Tonka, but y'all know what they sound like. I wanted to share something very different.
