A shutout gets Escogido back into the series.

ESCOGIDO 8, LICEY 0 IN ESCOGIDO

Licey:  Maikel Cleto (Kansas City) struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and one walk.

Escogido:  Eury Perez (Washington) was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Ramon Santiago was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Jon Leicester struck out six in six innings, allowing three hits and no walks.

The game:  A single, a walk, a pair of errors, and run-scoring singles by Julio Lugo and Santiago put Escogido ahead 3-0 in the first.  A walk, a single, and a sacrifice fly made it 4-0 after two.  There was no more scoring until the seventh, when Escogido scored three more to put the game out of reach.  Licey's biggest scoring threat came in the eighth, when a hit batsman and two walks loaded the bases with two out, but a ground out ended the inning.
