Licey: Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Erick Aybar (Angels) was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Yunesky Maya (Atlanta) struck out six in 4.2 innings, giving up one run on five hits and one walk.
Escogido: Jordan Lennerton (Detroit) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run. Pedro Ciriaco (Kansas City) was 3-for-5. Edward Valdez pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
The game: With two out in the fourth, Perez doubled and Aybar singled him home to give Licey a 1-0 lead. Lennerton led off the fifth with a home run to tie the score at one. It was tied until the eighth, when a single and a hit batsman put runners on first and second with one out. The next batter fanned, but Perez tripled to bring home both runners and put Licey ahead 3-1. Escogido opened the ninth with a pair of singles, but a popup and a double play ended the game.
