The toughest thing about living in this complex is that it seems to be a short stop for people on their way up. My daughters have made a lot of great friends only to have them move out of the apartments, with very little warning, to actual houses or larger apartments. Today the best friend they've made here is leaving and for the first time, they'll be left with no close friends here after having times when there were ten or fifteen girls running around together. Someday Skim and Sour Cream will be the ones to disappoint some kids around here, and that makes me sad, too.

Good morning
I think I'm gonna apply to be a Twins trainer since it seems that, no matter how many r&r type of treatment you prescribe, you can't possibly be fired.
Man.
Why can't we ever have nice things?
So does this mean that Dr. James Andrews has a little Adleman-itis in him?
They're supposed to hold off until the end of spring training before they decide this, aren't they?
The medical staff is improving!
Well shit, there goes his pitching career.
The Twins are apparently hell-bent on pushing me into "FIRE SOMEONE!!" territory.
Sano reported his injury months ago and finally get around to this. Even without games the #playyousissies attitude won't die!
Rob Antony talked to Gladden during the game about Sano. Here's some key points:
1. When Sano first reported pain last fall, the MRI showed "a clear tear" (I'm assuming partial) in his UCL.
2. He had no pain at all this spring until an awkward throw in the intrasquad game.
3. The MRI he had yesterday or today didn't show any more damage. It was the same as in the fall. The difference is that the pain and inflammation (presumably) shows that it is not something he can play through anymore.
4. Sano could be swinging a bat in as little as 4 mos. and could possibly DH a little in August.
I am not faulting the Twins here. Sano and them went to Dr James Andrews and he recommended rest and rehab.
I never saw this coming.
*checks calendar*. Prophetic.
Let's just sit around until March and then have the surgery.
It was an easy call.
Ed Thoma with a more measured approach than most.
Fulham and Chelsea still nil-all after a half hour. Better than I expected.
Couldn't it at least have been Hazard.
geeze, I look away for 5 minutes and its 2-0
This has gone to shit incredibly quickly.
at least its not a shutout!
Its cold and snowy today, but todays Twins game is on FSN.
Unfortunately, the whole broadcast will be discussing Sano, so don't expect much of an uplift.
My college family is in mourning today. 3 Carleton students killed in crash.
heartbreaking.
Diamond gives up a home run. Shut it down, GOSO.
Baby J's got ya covered.
Perhaps I was a bit premature with my declarations.
You dont run on Aaron Hicks.
Ah, I remember Hicks' defense. Good stuff.
Well, Hicks' arm is looking good so far.
Its getting to the point of the game where players I have never heard of are entering. Brandon Waring?
Jose Mijares sighting!
Chicky chicky parm parm
whoa, Kennys Vargas is a big man.
Yes he is. Between he, Pinto, and Mijares in the last 2 at bats, that's a lot of girth.
Defensive metrics are about to get a whole lot more quantifiable.
That. Is. Awesome.

Reminds me of an article I read recently on Slate. It was about how Fox's "glowing puck" thing was mocked, but turns out to be the best thing to happen to televised sports because of the technologies learned in development.
Was Fox’s glowing puck the worst blunder in TV sports history, or was it just ahead of its time?
Dazzle in midseason form: "Brian Buxton"
The good - Free Hold Steady Show on Thursday for SXSW.
The bad - They go on at 10 AM
The ugly - To get into the show, I have to queue at 5AM
I could get used to this. Twins 14, Red Sox 4 in 18 innings so far.
How much more evidence do you need? 162-0, here we come!
Wolves update: Pek and Martin expected to be available tonight.
Awesome! I miss the big lug.
Double-plus good, seeing as how I get to see them on tv tonight.
Expect Caged Lion to have another big game.
Went to see The Wall That Heals today at the capital. Having been to the real thing, this one gave me a bit of a "mini-stonehenge" vibe. But still emotional.
A really good feature about Byron Buxton. This is why Shecky should have stayed a baseball writer instead of becoming a hack columnist.
