There's some good songs in there.
What's the opinion on Ten? Like everyone else, I thought it was pretty cool when it came out but now I think it's practically unlistenable.
I found it unlistenable when it came out.
Bootsy is 20 years ahead of everyone. In 2030 we're all going to be gaga over Deerhoof.
FTR, PJ Ten was not even close to being cool in any of the good record stores (or 'zines) back then. Just sayin'.
I was a GBV and Wedding Present fan about 20 years before you were, so maybe you'll come around on the 'hoof, too. 😉

That's what I'm saying. I'll be enticing the 60-somethings lasses into my private nursing home room with some sweet sounds by the 'hoof.
I gotta believe any cool future 60-something lass will be intrigued by this in 20 years.

Piling on a bit, that record was pretty much the sonic blueprint of bands like Creed and Nickelback.
So is Joshua Tree but no one would make that argument.
It was my favorite album when I was in junior high, now it is in my mix solely for nostalgia's sake. "Black" is about the only track I won't skip.
I have discovered that Pearl Jam is at its best live. I listen to the live album they recorded in Mexico City on occasion.
Live On Two Legs gets some pretty serious rotation in my house, but I'll admit that I still enjoy the rest of their catalogue as well.*
*could be nostalgia...probably
I've been meaning to dig it out and listen again but haven't. Vitalogy was my disc. Minus "Foxymop"

7. I need to cut this. I'm not interested in the "concept" of this album, just the songs. I hated most skits on hip-hop records in the late 90s, and Hill didn't even have the decency to keep them as separate tracks. Except this one. Thank to her at least for not having this be the first minute of "Intro/Lost Ones".
8. I know them best as Burger/Ink and next best as Burger/Voigt. (Jörg Burger and Wolfgang "Gas" "Mike Ink" Voigt.)
Far and away my favorite number from the latest Dum Dum Girls record.

** The group name serves as a pretty good description of their sound. Unsettling ambient (which should be a genre if it isn't already) available for free here.
That is an awesome moniker. Downloaded--will check it out later.
Speaking of unsettling ambient, did you ever get a chance to check out Deathprod? I think you'd enjoy them.

*I think this is one of the first songs I learned every word to…excluding Sunday worship songs.
I have two extra tickets to the Drive-By Truckers & Blitzen Trapper show on Thursday, March 27. Had a few different couples lined up and they’ve all dropped out. So, before I sell them on Craigslist, I figured I’d offer them here. $50 for the pair (OBO). Come Celebrate My Birthday With Me! but you don't actually have to hang out if you don't want to.
I already have tickets to that show, but I didn't realize it was a birthday celebration too. Nice of DBT to throw you a party!
I thought so too!
Any interest in a mini-caucus? Seems a must if Algonad can make an appearance.
I'm game.
Right-on. I'm at bmjohnson327 at the Hotmail service - shoot me a note and we can figure something out.
Anyone else is welcome to attend. I'll get something into the daily cuppa as soon as we get things organized.
I need to check at home but I am interested in dbt tix.
Sounds good. I'd rather they go to someone I know (since that's why I bought 4...sigh).

Weezer's blue album remains my 7-year-old's favorite album. He can sing along with all of the tracks, but requests "Say it Ain't So" just about every time we are in the car.
DW usually has 9 songs that absolutely kick ass and one that makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. The Genesis song falls in the later category.
Last day of my spring break. Boo.
