Pursuant to punman's LTE about board games, I emailed the little brother to see what board games he's into. A little background on the guy: He's crazy for board games. For about 5 straight Christmases and birthdays, that's all he's asked for. He watches Wil Wheaton's TableTop like I watch Archer, repeatedly and often. Here's his list of games he currently owns:

His "I WANT" list is even larger, of course.
He uses a site called Board Game Geek to hit up forums to learn about new games, discuss strategies and even trade games with other gamers around the country.
If there are any specific questions, leave them here and I can forward them or maybe convince him to drop by and answer them himself (subject to his crazy schedule).
I check out Board Game Geek with some regularity.
I'd be very interested in hearing his take on the various expansions for Carcassonne (and what I assume is a Pandemic expansion). I have The Dragon and The Princess expansion, which I enjoy, but casual players tend to hate it as it forces things to be more cutthroat.
I've only played Pandemic with the expansion. It's hard. It makes the game very, very hard. We've never won. We were one move away one time; if a character had moved to the other space they could have in the preceding turn we would've won. It was heartbreaking.
My brother just got Ticket to Ride recently and I've played a couple of times. That is a really, really fun game.
Fun and proof that Americans aren't the only one's who suck at geography.
It really annoys me that they put Duluth where Minneapolis-St. Paul should be on the board/map.
I think they also have Chicago in Ohio, if I'm not mistaken.
Indiana for Chicago.
Here's the publisher's response on the Duluth/Minneapolis-St.Paul thing:
I own Richthofen's War and Starship Troopers. One game I remember well from college is Divine Right, which was a sort of fantasy take on Risk.
I can put up a few posts in this vein before too long.
I really enjoy Pandemic (and it's expansion), Suburbia, and Tsuro. Not on your brother's list, but also good: Feudal, Forbidden Island, Furt, Kill Dr. Lucky, and Flapjacks and Sasquatches (a card game, but still plenty fun).
Ah, Thanks Mag!
Over Christmas I picked up Shadow Hunters, Dominion (Big Box edition), and Tzolkin. I'm hoping to acquire Castles of Burgundy around Father's Day.
Ticket's always a classic. It's a great entry level type game to get people accustomed to the new style of board games (Euro-style).
Whenever I travel back to St. Louis to visit friends I always end up trying 4-5 new board games. The next time I go, I'm going to the Geekway to the West board game con. I'm super excited to spend 3 days doing nothing but playing board games. (Rhu, if you're interested, check it out).
From that list above, I've played Ticket, Tsuro, and Pandemic. Strangely, I've yet to play Carcassone.
yeah, sorry, I have too many vices already, but thanks for the offer. where do they hold it, Westport?
Yep, Westport. I've let go of a few vices, so this fits in nicely. 🙂
I'm barely 20 min. from Westport; let me know when you're there -- there's plenty of places to eat there, and we can meet up
