May 10, 2014: Not Over Yet

The long layoff between games made me forget about last night's, but the Wild have won at Xcel again to tie the series with the Blackhawks. I haven't given up on a MN title in one of the big four for the first time since '91.

  1. Miss SBG is having a sleepover. Three little girls already up. All will be tired later.

    1. Skim is almost always up early, even after sleepovers where everyone goes to sleep at one or two in the morning. Somehow, she just goes about her normal day while the other kids slog through like zombies. Sleep seems to be a mere suggested activity to her, rather than a requirement.

      1. The trinket is the same. I'm shocked if she sleeps past 7 and she's starting to nap less but still keep up. My wife hates it because it usually means no one naps.

We're going to a wedding tonight and i fully expect her to outlast both of us.

  2. Last night after picking up Runner daughter from the rental car place, the City of Des Peres found reason to issue me a citation for excessive speed. One of those places where you enter the street on one side and then have roughly a block to cross four lanes before the highway onramp on the other side. Oh well, it'd probably been 20 years since the last one.

  3. I just want everyone to know that my wife passed away last night with complications from pneumonia. I may put something on Facebook later on with more details. She passed peacefully and Right now I am surrounded by family and loved ones.

    1. Sincere condolences, free. There are no words, but we are as here as we can be for you.

    2. That's awful to hear, free. I can't possibly know what to say to you right now, other than to remind you that this particular group of friends will surround you for as long as you need.

    3. Oh, wow. I cannot even begin to imagine what you're going through. You are in our prayers. If there is something more tangible we can do, or if you need someone to talk to, I'm here, and I'm sure the rest of us are, too.

    4. I'm so sorry to hear this, free. I'll be thinking of you and your family.

    5. I don't know what more to say that hasn't been said. My deepest condolences, friend.

    6. Oh, free, I'm so sorry. I echo others' offers of support and prayers. If you need anything, just say the word.

    7. Sad news, freealonzo. We'll say extra prayers for her and you and your children tonight.
If there's anything you need, Pirate and Sean live a lot closer to you, and Twayn works closer, but I can be your Corky Miller or something.

    8. Awful news, Free. I'm glad that you're surrounded by your family. My thoughts are with you and yours.

    9. So sorry to hear this news free. You and your family will be in our prayers.

  4. I'm so sorry for your lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  5. Tracy McGrady is pitching on ESPN for the independent league. He looks fairly competent, but a major leaguer he'll never be.

    1. I can see why a minor league team would give him a shot, but I don't see it as anything more than a promotion trying to draw in a few extra fans.
