Deduderino (1-2, 3.14 FIP) takes on Ryan Vogelsong (2-2, 4.12 FIP)
Vogelsong was out of the big leagues for four years. I did not know that. Either way, I think this game depnds on the coin flip that is Sam Deduno. If he's on, I think the Twins can make it work. If he's not... man, I dunno.
I'll probably catch up with the tail end of this one. If anyone drops by, I hope they save a seat for me.
Ooooh.... who attached that photo? That's awesome. Thanks!
I think the photos just show up.
Only happens for certain categories: Cup of Coffee, Keeping Track (mostly), and monthly/weekly columns. For game logs, it has to be done manually. I often pick the park the game is being played in or maybe a notable historical park for the home team.
I usually try to remember to post a new picture, so that we can build our photo library. Today I forgot.
thank you for doing those!
Dido
I like it when Bert Blyleven breaks down pitching mechanics. I wish he would do it more often.
As opposed to when our starters' pitching mechanics break down.
For me, that's what's so frustrating about Bert. He can be a really good analyst when he wants to be. It's just that he so rarely wants to be.
Escobar with ANOTHER double.
I'm not missing Florimon at all.
It's sad, because if he was even a remotely competent hitter, he'd be golden. As it stands, the dropoff in defense is slight, and the uptick in offense (right now) is massive.
Florimon has 7 hits total in his 74 PA
Escobar has 14 doubles in 100
tied for 15th in the majors, but with ~½ of the AB as everyone above him. more than Tulowitzki!!1!11
Dammit, Panda.
It's okay. Solo home runs can't hurt you.
That walk though, on the other hand...
Wow, nice piece of hitting by Panda. down and away and lofts a jack into the oppo field power alley.
not a home run.
The home plate ump has a generous strike zone tonight.

Sure seems like Mauer is swinging at a lot more first pitches this year.
You're right. 12.5% coming into tonight, which is his highest rate since 2007, when he was at 14%. That was the last time he was in double-digits. Last 3 seasons only 7.3%.
I knew someone here would look that up and let me know if I was right! Thanks socal!
Bad turn by Dozier costs a run.
Nibs, I appreciate the post title.
two bloops and a blast please
BLAST!
cant win them all
Back to .500. With Arcia and Willingham out so long, I look at that as a big positive.
And hey, it could be worse. We could all be
HoustonBoston fans.
