  1. It sounds a lot like Joerger is going to be the next coach. I don't think I'm quite ready to trust Flip yet, because it's still a "someone I know" type of situation, but combining our with the Dieng pick, I'm getting closer.

        1. But really, is anyone surprised that this happened?

The have been only 5 moments in team history that are positive:
          1. getting a franchise
          2. getting KG
          3. going to the WCF
          4. getting Kevin Love

          ok, maybe only 4

          1. 5. Getting Ricky to come over?

But yeah, I shouldn't have been counting any chickens today. I blame social media.

            1. Yeah, there is the fifth!

All I know is that when the Wolves finally win a Championshp ring, its going to be awesome.

  2. NDSU's baseball and softball teams won their conference and made the national tournament. The women's team beat Auburn and then lost a heartbreaker to the Gophs. The baseball team won yesterday and will play in the upcoming tourney. That makes 9 conference titles this year. Not bad.

    1. the Stanford of the Prairie?

I will counter with the Alma Mater placing both Men's and Women's teams in the D-III national championships in Ultimate (Women 2nd, Men 3rd), and the elite Men's and Women's teams both now competing at the D-I championships women are ranked 6th; men 16th).
The men went 3-1 in pool play, beating Florida, Oregon, and Rutgers but losing to UNC-Wilmington. they then lost to Wisconsin, failing to advance to the quarterfinals. Still, a great finish to a year marked by tragedy.

the women went 2-2 in pool play, beating Colorado and Northeastern, but losing to Central Florida and UBC. They then defeated Tufts to advance to the quarterfinals, but lost to Ohio State.

  3. The high school in the small nearby town of Hoven caught fire last night. This is the school my town of Gettysburg has a sports co-op with. This will be a big blow to that little town.

  4. Went to the BBHOF today in C'town, NY after this morning's triathlon and lunch at Ommegang's brewery cafe.

For the tasting flight (along with buckwheat crepe's with spinach, goat-cheese, and duck) I had: Hop House, Hennepin, and Abbey Ale. All were quite good.

      1. I talked with a dude at a store about this. Pres. was here Thursday. Heli'd in, tons of SS dudes around the area. He came to the BBHOF and there was a tented area where 150 specials got to meet the POTUS. No-one local was involved. That's too bad.

      1. Quite. My best friend from high school works at one of the other museums out there, and the whole area is awesome.

        1. I was in a pretty shitty mood on the trip to Lake Placid for tryouts last summer, but Cooperstown made it all go away. It was such a cool experience

    1. All faves of mine. I know several folks that have been to the brewery cafe...a few of which went there on my suggestion. And here I am NOT being there like a sucker.

  5. Chris Herrmann and Chris Colabello sent down to make room for Arcia and the Hammer. Chris Parmelee is just enough Chris for Gardy to handle.

    1. Josh Willingham featured in the HOF for two grand slams in the same game in back to back innings, as a National (7th in MLB history to do so).
