GWINNETT 6, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER
Batting stars: Brad Nelson was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second. Deibinson Romero was 2-for-4.
Pitching stars: Edgar Ibarra struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a walk. Michael Tonkin pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Yunesky Maya struck out eight in seven shutout innings, allowing five hits and a walk. Mark Hamilton was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, his fourth. Brandon Boggs was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second.
The game: It was scoreless until the fifth, when Jose Costanza doubled in one and Hamilton hit a three-run homer. Boggs hit a two-run homer in the eighth to make it 6-0. The lone Rochester run came in when Nelson led off the ninth with a home run.
Of note: Eric Farris was 1-for-4. Chris Colabello was 0-for-3. Pedro Florimon was 1-for-4. Starter Alex Meyer struck out five in five innings, but gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk.

TAMPA 8, FORT MYERS 2 IN FORT MYERS
Batting star: Dalton Hicks was 2-for-3 with two runs.
Pitching stars: Brandon Peterson struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up one hit. Brian Gilbert struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Opposition stars: Cody Grice was 3-for-4 with a triple and a walk, scoring once and driving in three. Conner Kendrick pitched six shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
The game: Grice's two-run triple highlighted a five-run fourth that gave Tampa a 5-0 lead. Fort Myers did not get a hit until the fourth and did not get a man past first base until the seventh, when they scored their first run on a sacrifice fly. Tampa scored three in the ninth to quash any thoughts of a comeback.
Of note: Jorge Polanco was 1-for-5. Eddie Rosario was 0-for-4. Adam Brett Walker II was 1-for-4. Starter David Hurlbut struck out five in four innings, giving up five runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks. The Miracle made three errors.
BURLINGTON 6, CEDAR RAPIDS 4 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
Batting stars: Jason Kanzler was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Chad Christensen was 1-for-3 with two walks and a home run, his fifth. Mitch Garver was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
Pitching stars: Chris Mazza pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits with one strikeout. Hudson Boyd pitched a perfect inning.
Opposition stars: Chad Hinshaw was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run (his fifth), scoring three times and driving in two. Kody Eaves was 2-for-5 with a home run (his fourth), scoring twice. Ryan Dalton was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.
The game: Burlington went single, double, single in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Kanzler singled in a run in the second to cut the lead to 2-1. Hinshaw doubled and scored in the third, Dalton led off the fourth with a homer, and Eaves and Hinshaw went back-to-back to start the fifth, giving the Bees a 6-1 advantage. Cedar Rapids tried to come back late. Tanner Vavra doubled in a run in the eighth to make it 6-2. In the ninth, Chad Christensen hit a one-out home run to make it 6-3. Garver doubled, followed by a pair of two-out singles that cut the lead to 6-4 and put the tying run on base. An infield out ended the threat and the game.
Of note: Ryan Walker was 0-for-5. Starter Derrick Penilla pitched five innings, giving up six runs on ten hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
DSL ORIOLES1 5, DSL TWINS 3 AT DSL ORIOLES1
Batting stars: Junior Amarante was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Luis Arraez was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Roni Tapia was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.
Pitching stars: Williams Ramirez struck out six in four innings, giving up an unearned run on six hits and a walk. Jose Martinez pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Luis Chaves was 3-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Jorge Gil was 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.
The game: Two errors led to the first Orioles1 run in the second inning. The Twins tied it in the third on a pair of singles and a pair of productive outs. Arraez doubled in a run in the fifth to give the Twins a brief 2-1 lead. Three walks, a force out, and an error scored two for the Orioles1 to give them a 3-2 lead after five. Tapia doubled and scored in the seventh to tie it up, but three more errors led to two Orioles1 runs in the seventh to give them a 5-3 lead. The Twins did not get a man past first after that.
Of note: Edwin Franco was 0-for-4 with an RBI. Lewin Diaz was 0-for-4. Carlos Martinez was 0-for-4. The Twins made seven errors.
