2014 Game 102: Chicago White Sox at Minnesota Twins

Kevin "Worst (Qualified) Starter in MLB" Correia

It took 101 games for a game log to be missed. That's longer than I would have predicted at the beginning of the year. I'm not sure if it was exactly missed however. Morales is gone and Suzuki seems likely to follow. Kind of sucks for Suzuki to be traded midseason for a third consecutive year, but maybe he'll get lucky this offseason and sign a long-term deal.

  1. Provus: "And the White Sox take a commanding 3-0 lead".

It says something about the Twins offense that their own announcer considers a three-run margin in the first inning a commanding lead.

  2. Hey, we have nine innings to make up those three runs. We can do that! Let's go, guys!

  3. As though it wasn't (often) bad enough the first time, my ScoreCenter app insists on announcing Twins final results intermittently for days following a game.

  4. Game report from nosebleeds: the guy selling Summit wonders why Correia is still in the rotation

    1. I'm sure it's cutting into his sales on the days Correia is scheduled to pitch, so it's a fair question.

      1. Yeah, just pointing out that the Twins, after the first month, havent been hitting many long balls. A lot of it is due to injuries. But Plouffe has been an almost everyday guy an is stuck on 7.

        1. Yes, but he's fourth in the AL in doubles, at least. As bad as the Twins' pitching has been, they've allowed the fewest HRs in the AL. I'm thinking Target Field has just now been allowing HRs this year so far.
