Sean Burroughs was reinstated to the active list by Bridgeport of the Atlantic League.

Nelvin Fuentes was sent by the White Sox organization from AAA Charlotte to AA Birmingham.

Sam Fuld was traded to Oakland for Tommy Milone.

Liam Hendriks was traded from Toronto to Kansas City with Erik Kratz for Danny Valencia.  Hendriks was optioned to AAA Omaha.

Pedro Hernandez had his contract selected from AAA Colorado Springs by Colorado.

Matt Hoffman was sent by the Phildaelphia organization from AAA Lehigh Valley to AA Reading, then was promoted to AAA Lehigh Valley two days later, then was sent to AA Reading the next day.

Justin Morneau was sent by the Colorado organization to AAA Colorado Springs on a rehab assignment, then activated him from the disabled list the next day.

A. J. Pierzynski signed as a free agent with St. Louis.

Matt Tolbert was placed on the seven-day disabled list by the Philadelphia organization (AA Reading) with a left shin contusion.  Four days later, he retired.

Danny Valencia was traded from Kansas City to Toronto for Erik Kratz and Liam Hendriks.

Kenny Wilson was designated for assignment by Oakland, then was sent outright to AA Midland.
