SYRACUSE 6, ROCHESTER 4 IN ROCHESTER
Batting stars: Josmil Pinto was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his sixth) and a double. Chris Colabello was 1-for-3 with a home run (his eighth) and a walk. Pedro Florimon was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBi.
Pitching star: Stephen Pryor struck out four in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two walks.
Opposition stars: Jeff Kobernus was 2-for-5 with a home run (his second) and three RBIs. Brandon Laird was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fifteenth. Eury Perez was 3-for-4 with a double.
The game: Kobernus hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run Syracuse first. Florimon tripled in a run in the second, Pinto hit a two-run homer to tie it in the third, and Colabello also homered in the third to give Rochester a 4-3 lead. In the fifth, Laird hit a two-run homer as part of another three-run inning to put the Chiefs up 6-4. That was it for the scoring. The Red Wings only got a man as far as second base after that, when Pinto doubled with one out in the eighth.
Of note: Doug Bernier was 1-for-4. Aaron Hicks was 2-for-4 with a run. Starter Kris Johnson pitched 6.2 innings, giving up six runs on nine hits and two walks with one strikeout.
NEW BRITAIN 5, HARRISBURG 1 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Mike Gonzales was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Corey Wimberly was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk.
Pitching stars: Taylor Rogers struck out eight in five shutout innings, giving up six hits and a walk. Adrian Salcedo struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Drew Vettleson was 2-for-4 with a home run, his seventh. Rick Hague was 3-for-4. Cutter Dykstra was 2-for-5 with a double.
The game: Gonzales had a two-run single in a four-run first that included three stolen bases, including a double steal of second and home. Kyle Knudson singled in a run in the third. Harrisburg got a man on third in the second, fourth, fifth, and seventh, but did not score until Vettleson homered in the eighth.
Of note: Levi Michael was 0-for-4 with a walk and a run. Nate Hanson was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Jorge Polanco was 2-for-4.

Batting stars: Jonatan Hinojosa was 2-for-5 with a triple and a double, scoring once and driving in four. Chad Christensen was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one. Ryan Walker was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.
Pitching stars: Stephen Gonsalves pitched seven innings, giving up three hits and no walks with five strikeouts. Jared Wilson pitched a perfect inning. Dallas Gallant pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Carson Kelly was 1-for-3 with a walk. Richy Pedroza struck out four in two perfect innings.
The game: Cedar Rapids scored in each of the first six innings. Alex Swim singled in a run in the first. Hinojosa doubled in two in the second. Swim singled in another run in the third. In the fourth, Tanner Vavra singled in one, Hinojosa tripled in two, and Christensen doubled in one. Two walks, a hit batsman, and a sacrifice fly plated a run in the fifth. In the sixth, Max Murphy doubled in a run and one scored on a ground out. Peoria only once advanced a man to third. The Chiefs did not get a hit after the third inning.
Of note: Mitch Garver was 1-for-5 with a double. Swim was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Murphy was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
GREENEVILLE 5, ELIZABETHTON 3 IN ELIZABETHTON
Batting stars: Tanner English was 1-for-3 with a triple and two walks, scoring once and driving in two. Jorge Fernandez was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Trey Vavra was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Pitching stars: Sam Gibbons pitched six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Keaton Steele pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Elieser Hernandez struck out six in five shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks. Jacob Nottingham was 1-for-3 with a home run (his fourth) and a walk. Yonathan Mejia was 2-for-4 with a double.
The game: Nottingham opened the scoring with a solo homer in the fourth and Edwin Medina singled in a run in the fifth to give Greeneville a 2-0 lead. Doubles by Fernandez and Brian Navarreto got Elizabethton on the board in the sixth. An error led to two Astros runs in the seventh, but the Twins got the runs back in the bottom of the seventh on triples by Jeremias Pineda and English and a Vavra single. That was as much as Elizabethton could do, though, and an error and a wild pitch led to a Greeneville insurance run in the eighth. The last seven Twins were retired.
Of note: Pineda was 1-for-5 with a triple and a run. Nick Gordon was 0-for-5.

Batting stars: Jermaine Palacios was 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Roni Tapia was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Pitching star: Williams Ramirez pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Dario Saunders was 1-for-3 with two walks and a run. Gabriel Ovalle was 2-for-4 with a run. Franklin Montilla pitched four innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks with no strikeouts.
The game: Palacios singled in a run in the third to give the Twins a 1-0 lead. Jose De Luna tied it with an RBI single in the sixth. In the seventh, an error, a passed ball, and a wild pitch led to two Reds runs and a 3-1 lead. Palacios singled in a run in the eighth to cut the lead to 3-2. The Twins twice got the tying run on but did not advance him past first base.
Of note: Luis Martinez was 0-for-3 with a walk and a run.
