ROCHESTER 3, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 2 IN ROCHESTER (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Chris Herrmann was 3-for-3 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Chris Colabello was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring once. Pedro Florimon was 1-for-3 with a home run, his fourth.
Pitching stars: Mark Hamburger pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks. Michael Tonkin struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.
Opposition stars: Scott Sizemore was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and a walk. Robert Refsnyder was 0-for-1 with three walks and a run. Zoilo Almonte was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.
The game: Florimon homered in the first inning to give Rochester a 1-0 lead. Back-to-back doubles by Colabello and Herrmann made it 2-0 in the third. Sizemore hit a two-run homer in the fourth to tie it at two. In the sixth, Herrmann doubled and scored on a single by James Beresford to give the Red Wings a 3-2 lead. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre put men on second and third with one out in the seventh, but their last two batters struck out.
Of note: Aaron Hicks was 0-for-4. Josmil Pinto was 0-for-3. Starter Sean Gilmartin struck out four in 4.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and four walks.
SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 2, ROCHESTER 1 IN ROCHESTER (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

Opposition stars: Chris Leroux struck out six in six innings, allowing one run on four hits and no walks. Zoilo Almonte was 1-for-3 with a home run, his eighteenth. Corban Joseph was 1-for-3 with a double and a run.
The game: Almonte opened the second inning with a home run. Later in the inning, Joseph doubled and scored to make it 2-0. Florimon doubled in a run for Rochester in the fourth. And that was all the scoring there was. The Red Wings only got one hit after the fourth, a two-out single in the sixth.

NEW BRITAIN 6, ALTOONA 1 IN ALTOONA
Batting stars: Kyle Knudson was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Levi Michael was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Jorge Polanco was 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Jason Wheeler struck out eight in six innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk. Alex Wimmers struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks. Jim Fuller struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a walk.
Opposition stars: Jarek Cunningham was 1-for-3 with a double and a run. Ryan Beckman pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing a walk.
The game: Reynaldo Rodriguez doubled in a run in the first to put New Britain up 1-0. A single, a double, and two more singles produced two runs in the fourth to make it 3-0. Ramon Cabrera singled in a run in the sixth to put Altoona on the board. The Rock Cats put the game out of reach in the seventh with three runs on one hit. Knudson hit a leadoff double, followed by a walk, an error, two more walks, and an infield out to produce the runs. The Curve got runners to second and third with two out in the seventh but did not threaten after that.
Of note: Mike Gonzales was 0-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Eddie Rosario was 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
CHARLOTTE 7, FORT MYERS 3 IN CHARLOTTE
Batting stars: Max Kepler was 3-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Adam Brett Walker II was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs. Jairo Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch and an RBI.
Pitching star: Alex Muren pitched a perfect inning.
Opposition stars: Jonathan Quinonez was 3-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two. Thomas Coyle was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one. Ariel Soriano was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.
The game: Walker II tripled and scored on a Kepler single to make it 1-0 after two. A run in the fourth made it 2-0. It went downhill from there. In the bottom of the fourth, two singles, a double, and another single plated three runs to give Charlotte a 3-2 lead. In the fifth, Soriano doubled in two and Coyle doubled in one to make it 6-2. Rodriguez singled in a run in the sixth and put the tying run up to bat with two out, but could do no more. Quinonez singled in a run in the seventh to finish out the scoring. Fort Myers did not get a run past first base after the sixth.
Of note: Aderlin Mejia was 0-for-4 with a walk. Travis Harrison was 0-for-4. Dalton Hicks was 0-for-3 with a walk. Starter Ethan Mildren pitched 4.1 innings, giving up six runs on nine hits and two walks with one strikeout.
CEDAR RAPIDS 3, BURLINGTON 0 IN BURLINGTON
Batting stars: Alex Swim was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Chad Christensen was 1-for-3 with a run.
Pitching stars: Chih-Wei Hu pitched six innings, giving up four hits and a walk with one strikeout. Brian Gilbert struck out two in two innings, giving up two hits. Jake Reed pitched one inning, giving up one hit with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Ryan Etsell pitched five innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Ryan Dalton was 2-for-3.
The game: A bases-loaded double play brought home a run in the first for Cedar Rapids. Swim singled in a run in the third to make it 2-0. There was another run-scoring double play in the sixth to make it 3-0. Burlington got men to first and second with one out in the first and sixth and got a man to second with two out in the ninth, but did not advance any of them to third.
Of note: Jonatan Hinojosa was 1-for-4 with a run. Max Murphy was 0-for-4.
ELIZABETHTON 9, PULASKI 2 IN PULASKI
Batting stars: Jeremias Pineda was 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Tyler Kuresa was 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Will Hurt was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
Pitching stars: Derrick Penilla pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Samuel Clay struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks. Josh Burris struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a hit.
Opposition stars: Arby Fields was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer (his fourth) and two walks. Jay Baum was 2-for-4. Ugueth Urbina struck out three in two shutout innings, allowing one hit.
The game: Elizabethton scored three in each of the first two innings to take control early. Kuresa hit a three-run double in the first. In the second, Pineda and Kuresa each had an RBI single and another run scored on a sacrifice fly. Fields hit a two-run homer in the third to cut the lead to 6-2, but that was as much as Pulaski would do. The Twins scored two in the sixth and one in the seventh.

GCL TWINS 5, GCL RED SOX 3 AT RED SOX (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Manuel Guzman was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Rainis Silva was 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs. Tyree Davis was 1-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.
Pitching star: Alexis Tapia struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks.
Opposition stars: Derek Miller was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Ben Moore was 2-for-4 with a double.
The game: Silva hit a two-run single in the first to put the Twins on top. RBI doubles by Guzman and Davis made it 4-0 in the fourth. The Red Sox got their lone run in the fifth, but that was as close as they came. The Twins added a run on a wild pitch in the seventh and the Red Sox got one in the bottom of the seventh. The Red Sox had the bases loaded with two out in the seventh, but a ground out ended the game.

Batting stars: Amaurys Minier was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Rafael P. Valera was 1-for-2 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one. Manuel Guzman was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.
Pitching stars: Zach Tillery pitched 5.1 innings, giving up five hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Trevor Hildenberger struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and no walks.
Opposition stars: Rafael Devers was 2-for-3 with a double. Michael Gunn struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.
The game: Minier singled in a run in the first, Valera tripled and scored on a Gabriel Ojeda single in the second, and two errors led to a Twins run in the sixth. The biggest Red Sox threat came in the second, when they put two men on third base (not at the same time--that's against the rules). The Red Sox also got a man to third in the sixth, but did not score.
