My daughter got home from a weekend camping trip last night. I didn't realize a preteen girl could reek of sweat that much. It's kind of impressive.

Guys, if cheaptoy ever offers to make you ribs, just say yes.
Thanks. I did think they got a little burnt, but the meat under the char was good. For a first attempt, they turned out pretty good.
There were some more well-done spots, but the peach-chipotle BBQ sauce was perfect for those morsels. Everything was quite edible and flavorful.
Guys, if
cheaptoyanyone ever offers to make you ribs, just say yes.FTFY.
Glad to hear Cheap's turned out well. I don't know that this project topped The Great AMR-Pepper Meet Up Of '14, but I still had a lot of anticipation for this particular Citizen's Endeavor.
Also,
Guys, if cheaptoy ever offers to make you
ribssomething to eat or drink, just say yes.It went well enough, although I'm bruised over 90% of my body. The deck construction was suitably half baked in some areas (and my fault), but it looks level, is sturdy, and the ribs turned out.
The joys of home improvement.
I'm shocked that there isn't an "Um" cluster in western Northfield. Ya ya.
So this is typological analysis rather than linguistic.
Missouri is "um"? "Ah" I could believe.
MN is "Uff" territory, though.
Speaking of language, what are your fingerprint words?
I say "clearly" a lot as a response to other people ("The cat is pretty pissed about that bath you gave her." "Clearly.")
I have a ton of others, I'm sure, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I'm sure Linds would be able to rattle off about seven or eight of them.
My wife's is "absolutely."
I say "huh" or "uh huh" a lot. I'm sure I have others.
In writing, I know I frequently use though, kind of, and a bit . (And parenthesis.)
Can hyphens be a fingerprint? I'm asking for a friend...
I was going to ask about ellipses, but I'll ask for both of us...
semicolons
What's this conversation about, gang? -
SpookyMathI start a lot of texts and LTEs with "Well,________"
Yeah, I also do that, as well as "Yeah, ___"
Cheers, Yeah, Well, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
A guy at work uses "per se" in every third or fourth sentence.
It doesn't mean what he thinks it means. He uses it for many Latinate phrases. "Viz-á-viz", "id est", "exempli gratia", "quod erat demonstrandum", "prima facie", et cetera.
I haven't noticed that anyone else notices. He's a nice guy and not being pompous. Just a verbal tic.
I sure as hell won't be picking up "per se", though.
Should I spring to see Lydia loveless tomorrow night?
No. You should come to town for Thanksgiving so you can see her then and make a caucus of it.
The correct answer is "yes and come to town for the Lydia caucus."
This.
Yes you should.
So, apparently the Vikings' concern about due process is negatively correlated with margin of victory?
My father, a fan for over 40 years and a Midwest codger, says he never wants him to suit up for the Vikings again. I would hope that this blows back in their faces.
It won't.
Even more clear to me:
Getting arrested for whipping your child = 1 game.
Getting arrested for whipping your fiance* = 10 games.
*technically, he never got around to proposing because he was in jail on charges he assaulted her...
Stuck at five on the latest FilmWise Invisibles:

? ?
oh, hellz yeah! Had the right idea but forgot about that...
I know nothing!
BTW - Sean you rock for this. #1 innovative use of LTEs in a non-Oil Industry context.
