It's Skim's tenth birthday and this post was supposed to be about that, but I got distracted last night because we were celebrating her birthday. Oh well.
I clearly lack your coffee making skillz. In any case, HBD to Skim--I hope the celebration was lots of fun!
I'm doing the Relay For Life cancer walk in a couple of weeks and would greatly appreciate any help in reaching my personal goal of $100 (or crushing it and showing my team what's what).
You can support me here. I walk for my late grandmother, who died of cancer ten years and eleven days ago, who was fighting specifically to live until she could see my daughter. She was so close. It still breaks my heart.
How about walking an extra 10 yards for every dollar over $100?
I'm not opposed. I walk all day at work, so what's a few more hours in the middle of the night?
Wow, such generosity already. Thanks, gang.
Yikes. My grandma just died ten days before Lincoln was born, so I completely understand.
Done. Good show, Spooks!
Not a lot of time to look at it, but I got #2, #7, and #8 so far.
Just got a call from our bank, seems my account info was hacked along with a lot of other folks. They didn't have specifics of where the numbers were stolen from. /boo
Have you purchased anything from Home Depot with a debit card in the past few months?
Been out of the country for most of that time. One purchase from homedepot last week. Maybe, maybe not.
Runner daughter was rear-ended a couple weeks ago, and after all is said and (finally) done, the other driver's insurance is paying for it, and the car was declared totaled. The check they cut was significantly higher than the quote we got, so we're having it fixed up and Runner daughter can use the remainder to seed her future auto insurance payments. Meanwhile, all the complaining I have to hear from Mrs. Runner about having to drive my car almost cancels everything out. #earbleed
The check they cut was significantly higher than the quote we got...
And some people don't believe in miracles.
Runner daughter informed me that the only trunk lid they could track down had a spoiler on it. Winning...?
Now she'll have an excuse to drive fast enough for it to be useful.
I keep hoping someone will total my wife's car (while it's parked an no one is in it), so I'm a little jealous.
The roof on our house was on its last legs a few years ago and I was looking at a very large roofing bill, and then we got a huge hailstorm. Insurance covered all but a couple of grand to replace the whole enchilada. That's about the only insurance serendipity I can remember.

I couldn't come up with the name for 7, but that's the movie I was thinking of.

Seriously should have gotten #3 - good call.
Kennys Vargas and Jose Berrios are honored as the Twins minor league player and pitcher of the year, respectively.
