ZULIA 9, LARA 1 IN ZULIA
Twins: Dubal Baez was used as a defensive replacement for Lara but did not bat.
Lara: Hernan Iribarren (Cincinnati) was 2-for-2 with a walk. Paulo Orlando (Kansas City) was 2-for-4. Victor Moreno struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.
Zulia: Aaron Altherr (Philadelphia) was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice and driving in four. Mark Minicozzi (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times. Yeiper Castillo (Oakland) struck out five in five shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks.
The game: Altherr hit a three-run homer in the second to open the scoring and Zulia got three more in the fourth to take control of the game.

Anzoategui: Orlando Arcia (Milwaukee) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a double, scoring twice. Jackson Melian (Houston) was 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Paolo Espino (Washington) struck out four in three innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks.
The game: Arcia's two-run homer in the third broke a 1-1 tie and gave Anzoategui a lead it would not relinquish.
MAGALLANES 4, ARAGUA 1 IN MAGALLANES
Aragua: Renato Nunez (Oakland) was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Alex Romero was 2-for-4 with a walk. Manny Correa (Oakland) pitched six innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks with no strikeouts.
Magallanes: Mario Lisson (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two. Lew Ford (Baltimore) was 3-for-4 with a double. Anthony Larew pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one run on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
The game: Magallanes scored two runs on one hit in the seventh, turning a 1-1 tie into a 3-1 lead.
CARACAS 6, MARGARITA 3 IN CARACAS
Margarita: Taylor Motter (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-5 with a two-run homer. Alberto Gonzalez was 2-for-5 with a run. Matt Nevarez (Pittsburgh) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Caracas: Tommy Pham (St. Louis) was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and two walks. Henry Alejandro Rodriguez (Cincinnati) was 3-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Tiago Da Silva struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits.
The game: Three consecutive singles plated a run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at three, but Pham hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to put Caracas back in front.
