  1. Back from an overnight in SF, where we got some kultcha. The BiL is a set designer. One of his sets was on stage last night for the dress rehearsal of Partenope. A rather raunchy rendition (set, somewhat oddly, in 1920s Paris). Fun, as operas go. Effin' long (3:20 or so, in three acts).

Had dinner after at Boxing Room. Excellent fried chicken with mashed potatoes and absolutely fantastic collard greens. Good beer list.

This morning: dim sum at New Asia. Huge place, 5/6ths of the customers were Chinese, most of whom were eating chicken feet. We did not. Excellent bao and a variety of other goodies. Wheel me out in a cart!

  2. Reusse wants a manager that will make sure Mauer knows he had a bad year (because apparently the 3-time batting champ and former MVP didn't realize he had a bad year) and tell Mauer that he needs to be in shape. This after Mauer couldn't work out much of the offseason last year due to lingering concussion symptoms. Oy.
