OBREGON 6, MEXICALI 2 IN OBREGON
Twins: Corey Wimberly was 3-for-5 with a double and a run for Obregon.
Mexicali: Luke Montz (Oakland) was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer (his third) and a walk. Mike Jacobs (Arizona) was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run. Edgar Gomez (Tampa Bay) retired all four batters he faced, three by strikeout.
Obregon: Dean Anna (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Arturo Lopez struck out six in five shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks.
The game: Five consecutive singles produced three fifth-inning runs for Obregon, putting them up 4-0. Montz hit a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 4-2, but Obregon scored two in the eighth to put it out of reach.
JALISCO 3, HERMOSILLO 2 IN JALISCO
Hermosillo: Jesus Loya (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Jorge Flores (Toronto) was 2-for-3. Jesse Estrada pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Jalisco: Cory Vaughn (Mets) was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Jose Heberto Felix was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Marco Tovar pitched six shutout innings, allowing five hits and one walk with four strikeouts.
The game: Jalisco scored single runs in the second, fifth, and sixth to go up 3-0. Hermosillo scored single runs in the seventh and ninth and had the tying run on second with one out in the ninth.
CULIACAN 3, LOS MOCHIS 2 IN LOS MOCHIS
Culiacan: Luis Mauricio Suarez was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Issmael Salas was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Manny Barreda (Milwaukee) pitched a perfect inning.
Los Mochis: Saul Soto was 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks, driving in two. Ernesto Molinet was 2-for-3 with a walk. Luis Niebla (Yankees) struck out six in 3.2 innings, allowing one run on two hits and a walk.
The game: Salas had an RBI single in a two-run fourth that put Culiacan ahead 3-1. Soto homered in the bottom of the fourth to make it 3-2 and there it stayed. Los Mochis loaded the bases in the fifth and had men on first and second in the sixth and ninth.
MAZATLAN 2, NAVOJOA 0 IN MAZATLAN
Navojoa: Luis Fonseca was 1-for-2 with a walk. Mario Gonzalez struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.
Mazatlan: Ryan Schimpf (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jesus Castillo was 1-for-2 with two walks. Alejandro Martinez pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Schimpf doubled and scored on a Stetson Allie (Pittsburgh) single in the sixth and Schimpf singled and scored on an Olmo Rosario double in the eighth. Navojoa's biggest threat came in the fifth, when they loaded the bases with two out.
