Venezuelan View: Games of October 14

Seventh inning singles decide both games.  Aaron Hicks makes his Venezuelan debut.

MARGARITA 3, LARA 2 IN MARGARITA

Twins:  Aaron Hicks was used as a reserve and went 0-for-1 for Lara.

Lara:  Paulo Orlando (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Anderson De La Rosa (Angels) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.  Raul Rivero pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

Margarita:  Taylor Motter (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-4 with a run.  David Peralta (Arizona) was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  James Houser (Colorado) pitched four shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

The game:  Manny Pina's (Detroit) RBI single broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh.

MAGALLANES 5, CARACAS 4 IN CARACAS

Magallanes:  Tomas Telis (Texas) was 1-for-1 with a run and two RBIs.  Luis Nunez was 2-for-4 with a run.  Hassan Pena pitched a perfect inning.

Caracas:  Danry Vasquez (Houston) was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Henry Alejandro Rodriguez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a run.  Luis Angel Sanz (Pittsburgh) pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing no hits and no walks.

The game:  With the score tied at four in the seventh, Adonis Garcia (Yankees) singled, stole second, and scored on a two-out single by Telis.
